ON3 has his NIL annual worth at 1.4 M

think he can live off that another year.

I don't know how much I trust those On3 valuations but I do feel pretty certain that he will be making more than $1 million over the next calendar year.

I don’t get the Simpsonites.

He’s shown nothing that’s impressive to me. Other than 1 run he had and he made the dumbest mistake of his life letting go of it before he scored.

That's not my dream. Sayin in '25. He's got NFL written all over him. The best we've ever brought in.

I admittedly dont keep up with recruiting...but over Bruce Young. BY was as solid a young QB as I think is possible

I didn’t get it early in the year but in games against UK and Chattanooga he flashed some pretty nice skill in terms of arm and legs. Yeah the competition wasn’t very good but he jumped out to me for the first time. I think he’s got a chance still to be a very solid college quarterback either here or somewhere else.

He may transfer honestly.

Jalen is our qb obviously but I just have this weird feeling like we are going to need him before it’s all said and done this year. I would not be scared one bit if he had to trot out there if Michigan does some BS hip drop tackle on Jalen. Don’t get me wrong it would not be ideal. I just hope he stays focused 1 more month.

Buchner was like that 3rd party warranty you purchase when you buy a car with 175,000 miles on it. It only covers so much and IF something went wrong you’d better hope that crummy warranty will cover it. Simpson is like a State Farm policy.

If true, I sure don't like where he may end up! I hear Coach Freeze is high on him and waiting to see if he enters the portal. Hope that's wrong but you can't blame a competitor for wanting to actually compete instead of waiting his turn that he may never get at alabama.

Milroe next year and then Sayin for the next 3 years. I think Simpson and one of Lonergan/Holstein transfers out.

Well it’s official, Jalen will return. I think Holstein transfers.

How do they calculate the NIL value?

All I know is Jalen is taking flying lessons so hopefully his decision making speed really is improving.

What Simpson should do is stick around through Spring 2025 and transfer after A-Day if he thinks Sayin has the inside track. He's a RS Sophomore next year, he could transfer out to a place that has a clearer path to starting in a similar system (ideally) for his RS Junior year OR he can be the starter at Alabama.

This would make the most sense, but these guys get people in their ear that don't necessarily see the big picture.

You think it would be smarter for him to wait longer so the best landing spots are taken and he is forced to go somewhere not as attractive if some freak injury or accident doesn't open a spot somewhere better?

Man fans are selfish lol.

He is already doing us a solid not bolting before the playoffs.

I don't really care for you calling me a selfish fan because I don't care if he stays or not. Alabama has pretty good depth at QB. They seem to have hit on their "2nd choice" QB in 2023 class with Lonergan to go along with Holstein. Plus Sayin will be here for the Spring too. If Simpson leaves, Lonergan or Sayin is likely the backup QB. The quicker Sayin starts, the quicker I can make bad puns involving Dragon Ball Z. The better thing for keeping the Freshmen QBs around probably actually involves Simpson leaving.

So yeah, I wouldn't characterize my prior post as selfishness. I tend to think the "lose one QB competition and transfer" tendency for underclassmen QBs is not smart unless there is no avenue for another competition before your final year.

All of your points support why it would be smart for Ty Simpson to be looking for the best next landing spot as soon as possible.

Instead if that he is sacrificing and staying on the team knowing it could significantly hurt his chances at being in the best situation. We have just seen Malik Murphy make the move because he knew if he didn't he could be playing for a bad team next year.

However this isn't enough. Not only must he sacrifice this he must also sit on the bench until the fans can get use of him.

Fans expect athletes to give them their souls yet the minute he slips we turn on him

In terms of QB development he's already in one of the best landing spots available. It's not at all unreasonable, much less selfish, to think that the #2 guy on the depth chart with 3 years of eligibility left would be better off seeing how things stand after the spring here and then deciding if he wants to go maybe start at a lesser program next fall or wait another year behind Milroe and maybe start here in 2025. There's no guarantees either way, but unless a program like UGA or Ohio State goes after him he's going to end up somewhere that's not as good as where he's already at in terms of supporting cast, coaching, NFL preparation, etc.

I'm all for competition, but upside is important. Sayin has huge upside. Don't want some drama over who starts in 2025. Don't want an inferior talent causing Sayin to Transfer because of Sayins limited experience. Don't want it.

Its Milroe next year with plenty of playing time for Sayin. He has to be ready for 2025 and the threepeat.
