They had a great history before 2001.

Tons of great players have come through there.

Good trivia stat.

Alabama didn't win until 2008, long after Tennessee died. Southern Bias was very real back in the day

Shular and Manning should have both won it.

Tennessee has 5 Heisman runners up too. Second most all time.

That should have been Peyton's trophy. Hopefully Arch can win one honestly.

didn't Johnny Majors come in second to Paul Horning back in the olden days? Thought I read that a while back.

Some thought Majors should have won it that year

The biggest theft in the history of the award occurred back in the 90’s or Tennessee would have one.

But Milton can throw a ball 85 yds after jumpstepping 15.

Peyton and Tee couldn't even do that

Desmond?

Btw, Charles Woodson went on to be an NFL Hall of Famer.

George Cafego should have won it. #1 pick in the draft.

Hank Lauricella (a Lousiana boy) should have won it.

Johnny Majors should have won it. Quite possibly a bigger robbery than Peyton. Paul Hornung who won it, always said Majors should have won.

Heath Shuler was without a doubt the best player in college when he finished 3rd.

Peyton Manning...his loss was orchestrated and campaigned for by ESPN.

Yep. frick Michigan

ESPN has always hated the South, but especially so back then. I remember the bias in the 90s. It softened in the 21st century.

Yes. Lost to a ND player when they had a losing record. First and only time that's ever happened I believe. Then Peyton loses to a defensive player, first and only time its ever happened as well.

Johnny Majors should’ve won it too. It’s a regional popularity contest. Period.
