I respect Kirby and UGA but I tried to tell them the only reason they went 15-0 last year is because they dodged Bama. They knew it was true. We all knew it was true. They tried to talk themselves into believing they finally surpassed Alabama but not the case.

We also heard the narrative when all of those Bama players hopped into the portal a couple years ago that Nick had lost control...look at all the portal guys for UGA right now yet no talk of Kirby "losing control".

They'll be back next year as a contender. Looks like we'll get Milroe vs Beck in T town. Should be fun.

Anyone calling what UGA has accomplished a dynasty does not understand what the word means. It has been a great run and is likely to continue....but it is not a dynasty yet. What Kirby Smart has accomplished at UGA in 8 years eclipses the efforts of ANY CFB in the history of CFB in their first 8 years as a HC. UGA may or may not be a dynasty in the future but they have not been one thus far except in the overheated imagination of idiots....

This is the correct and reasonable take. It’s likely Kirby will build and maintain a true dynasty, but Georgia fans are finding out how hard it is to accomplish what Saban has done at Bama. Getting to the mountaintop is difficult, doing it two years in a row is hard as fvck, but staying at or near the top for 16 straight years is damn near impossible (and I don’t believe Saban is finished yet). It may never be done again.

To add to this, I will be curious to see what a "dynasty" looks like in the era of the 12 team playoff. That extra game or two, NIL seemingly creating a bit more parity, plus harder regular season schedules adds more variability to the mix.

You are just cherry picking two non title years on the edge of two title years. Obviously, with Bama, you would say in 17 years we have 9 SEC titles and 6 natties with 4 Heisman winners. But, if you want to use your window of time, just say:

2011-2012:
2 natties, 1 SEC title, 1 heisman finalist, 2-1 versus LSU (both wins crushed LSU’s soul), 2-0 versus Auburn

Good points. The college football landscape is changing before our eyes. Will be interesting to see how it looks in as few as five years from now. Saban has adapted to change as well or better than any coach. We’ll see who can do it over time after he’s gone.

Fans of any program who doubt what Saban has accomplished is damn near miraculous are either deluded or know nothing about CFB. It is one thing to PRETEND that Saban ain't the GOAT to troll Alabama fans, it is the epitome of idiocy to actually think he ain' the GOAT.

Some of us have said that talk of Saban's demise was greatly exaggerated....we were correct of course. That take is, in my opinion, as silly as saying this is his greatest coaching job ever...he had a talented roster and caught 2 teams that kept them out of the SECCG last year at home this year....he did a good job but it is simply the job that should be the expectation at Alabama...

I am not so sure. I think that the same teams that win a conference championship and 2 bopwl games to win a natty will do the same things most years in a 12 team playoff. Most years there will be 1 or 2 actually capable of winning in a 4 team or 104 team playoff. There will be an outlier here and there where a team gets a player back or something and goes on a run and wins a natty but most years it will be the same as it always has been.

Bill Clinton says 1998 was a long time ago. Even in 1998 you had a fluke fumble by Arkansas that gifted the Vols a title and lucked out and played against a backup QB at FSU and backed into the Natty in the bowl game.

I heard they even needed 2 miracles to beat Auburn too. Your team has not won a title since 2017. Is that still a dynasty at this point?

Bama lost to UT and LSU. Two teams that UGA obliterated. Playing Bama last year would not have been a loss.

Back to back NCs and a 29 game winning streak is a ridiculous run!
Calling that weak is disingenuous.

2 nat’l championships in a row, and who says the dynasty is over? You Bama fans are so petty.
