When will SEC schools will have a new coach?

It seems the average tenure of head coaches is shrinking. Coaches used to get a minimum of 4-5 years but it seems to be shrinking to 2-3 at most in some circumstances.
Texas A&M: new coach next season
Miss St: new coach next season
Florida: likely new coach in 2025
Arkansas: likely new coach in 2025
Vanderbilt: likely new coach in 2025 you would think
Who’s next?
Got to think Saban only has 2-3 more years left in him at most. He’s looking frail.
Does anyone believe Ole Miss is Kiffin’s final destination? He’ll bolt when the right higher profile job opens up (Alabama?)
I think Brian Kelly is a year away from being on the hot seat. His recruiting is lackluster by LSU standards. He absolutely has to win 10 games and beat Bama next season or he’ll enter 2025 on the hot seat.
Eli Drinkwitz is one to watch. He seems a good fit for Missouri. I’m kind of surprised Texas A&M didn’t show more interest. If he has another good season next year, I bet he becomes a hot commodity for a bigger job. Would love to see him stay and build something in Columbia though.
Venables at Oklahoma is also one to watch. Not sure how impatient Oklahoma fans get, but if he fails to have a good season next year (first year in the SEC), it would likely mark Oklahoma’s first 3-year stretch without a Top 10 finish since 1997-1999.

If he wins 10, loses to Bama by 20+, but makes playoffs (could easily happen) he will not be on the hot seat.

It will be interesting to see how LSU performs post JD.

He is building the program the right way, so unless he is just a bad coach (which I don't believe he is) I think he will be fine.
The thing to watch there will be do Sooner fans adjust expectations stepping into a tougher conference, or will the weight of a SEC schedule and BIG12 win total expectations kill his chance of being successful?

He may be on the hot seat but they aren't going to pay the massive buyout

Possible. I think the Playoff going to 12 teams could help improve the life expectancy of the average coaching tenure for sure.

Yeah about that…

This is a myth made up by some of our more dramatic fans. It's looking like he's about to make some big last minute moves in '24. Also we will most likely be getting the #1 QB, RB, and WR from the 2025 class.

You casted a wide net, but I'll bite. BK is no where close to being on the hot seat.
He won the SEC West (toughest division in football) in his first year with a patch-work and depleted roster.
His second year, he produced THE most prolific offense in the country led by HEISMAN TROPHY WINNING quarterback Jayden Daniels.
2024 the defense should only look to take a big step forward as he returns 10/11 starters and younger players continue to develop in his system.
The 2025 class BK is putting together will likely feature the #1 Overall Player in the country, QB Bryce Underwood; the #1 WR in the country in DK Moore; and the #1 RB in the country in Harlem Berry. The rest of the class will solidify a top 5 class for him and could make a run for #1 overall class. If that is "lackluster" recruiting, I will take that every year for the rest of my life.

It'll be interesting to see how this changes the dynamics of a season as well as coaching tenure.
For example, how many years would Auburn have to have first round exits in the playoffs before they start getting tired of it?
On the other hand, smaller programs like Ole Miss, could probably make the playoffs for years if not a decade before we started wondering about taking the next step.

He turned down Auburn last year. Money wise, OM can keep him happy. NIL wise OM keeps stepping up to meet his request. I believe the 12 team playoff will play a roll. If he can make the playoff 2-3 times every 5 years I think he will be satisfied. If you look at his 4 years at OM, he would be in the playoffs 2 of those.
Now from what I’ve heard, he’s locked in at least until his daughter is finished with college. For him to leave he would need complete control, he doesn’t care who gives what, it’s his program.
Do I think he retires at OM? No of course not. But I think we have him a few more years.
When he was hired, if you said Lane would have OM in the sugar and peach in 4 years, first thought would he he would have left after the first ny6 bowl.
So OM is playing with house money at this point.

But how’s the OL/DL recruiting? Teams with best DL usually win.

You’ve got 26 commitments and are ranked 8th in the SEC. Not a ton of room left to improve. LSU sits basically alone in the 5th most talent-rich state in the country. No excuse to not have a Top 5 or 6 class.

You see this as an accomplishment. Reality is he had the talent to do great things this year but if the Playoff existed this year would still have missed it. That’s underachieving.

I will never worry about our OL under Kelly.
DL is a different story and one he needs to make some changes on soon. I'm willing to give him a little time, hell, it even took Kirby 6 years to win his first NC. BK has some time.

Which is a direct indication of LA having a little bit of a down year this year. However 25 and 26 in LA are absolutely loaded, especially in 2026. 3 of the top 10 recruits in the country are from BR and NOLA and will be Tigers most likely.
Also, considering you are an Auburn fan, I'm not sure why you're saying these things about Kelly and LSU. Kelly has had a better first 2 years at LSU than Hugh will have after coming into pretty similar situations.

Yeah this ain’t happening.
OM makes the playoff 4 times in the last 10 years. In that same 10 years we were hit with 4 years of probation.
Since the Covid season OM would have made it twice.
What is the reason of that not happening in the next 5-10 years?
