There was ~2:45 on the clock. With the new clock rules him going out of bounds would have still kept the clock running, right?

Correct was not within 2 minutes. But hard to really coach that out

It would have stopped until officials reset the ball outside of 2 minutes.

Yes, but in a clock kill drive like that they are coached not to go out of bounds.

Thank goodness he didn’t throw it!

I kid. He made the crucial plays on that last drive. Love that dude.

that was fantastic play though rather routine

That was worth his MVP along with shotput pass to Bond

I think he stayed in bounds there.

A play that upset me a bit was one where he scrambled to the right and ran out of bounds after picking up 2 or 3 and leaving us in a 2nd 7 or 8 and I think we got the 1st down, but no one was "that close" to him, he could have dived forward 5 yards easily on the OOB line and they could not really hit him, or take that chance of getting a flag. That is all thinking the situation through, a 3rd and 2-3 late in the game is a much better situation.

The clock would have started, but after the chains moved. It's essentially the same as a first down. So he chewed some clock by sliding even though the clock would have run before we would have snapped the ball.

Not to mention the second to last drive was likely his best incremental drive throwing the ball of the entire season

Clock would have stopped for a few moments and then started back. By sliding he probably drained 6-8 extra seconds off the clock.
