2021 QB Recruits - Interesting

After seeing that Tyler Buchner was in the transfer portal again, I started looking at the other kids that were top 10 QBs in that class:
#1 Quinn Ewers - Signed at Ohio State, transferred to Texas
#2 Caleb Williams - Signed at Oklahoma, transferred to USC
#3 Sam Huard - Signed at Washington, transferred to Cal-Poly
#4 Drake Maye - Signed to UNC, still enrolled there
#5 Brock Vandagriff - Signed with Georgia, in transfer portal
#6 J.J. McCarthy - Signed with Michigan, still enrolled there
#7 Kaidon Salter - Signed with Tennessee, transferred to Liberty
#8 Kyle McCord - Signed with Ohio State, in transfer portal
#9 Ty Thompson - Signed with Oregon, still enrolled there
#10 Tyler Buchner - Signed with Notre Dame, transferred to Alabama, in transfer portal again
Three of the top 10 are still enrolled where they signed on at; of those three, the most intriguing is Ty Thompson. He'll have big shoes to fill following Bo Nix's performance these past couple of years, but the fact that he stayed is interesting.

It's worked out okay (so far), but I honestly think Drake Maye not coming here threw a huge wrench in our long-term QB plans.
Not to say he would've been some elite talent, but when he flipped after committing in 2019, I believe it threw our staff into chaos.

Still a weird development to me.
I mean I know the guy didn't light it up, but he probably had unreasonable expectations following Stroud.
Probably a huge get for someone, or at least a top-five potential transfer at the moment.

I have nothing to contribute but wanted to stop by and applaud this uncharacteristically (by SECR standards) insightful and intelligent discussion. Great stuff gents
