It's uncanny. The ways we could get in just keep getting whittled down. The chances of Texas or Michigan losing are pretty slim. And despite how shakey FSU is, I don't exactly feel great about pinning my hopes on a LOUISVILLE football team to beat anybody.

We COULD still get in if nobody loses, but I don't feel great about it.

I feel like Oregon losing is a good thing for Bama. I'm hopeful that it forces the Committee to reevaluate how they're ranking teams.

Oregon's loss last night just validates what literally everyone on the planet was saying, except for the Committee and Oregon fans.

The committee was trouble this year

We had great wins and just stayed there even from being in the toughest conference division in college football

I agree. PAC 12 champ was always getting in. Oregon being eliminated helps Bama. We win today and one of Texas or Fla. St. lose, we in.

It completely ruled out any chance there might have been of us jumping the P12 champ.

Bama was never going to jump a PAC 12 champ. To much bias.

I've said all along I didn't think we were either. But, it would have at least been a conversation, if it came down to it. There will be no conversation about jumping UW. We were always going to jump the P12 loser, with a win over UGA. So, this may not be a back-breaker, but it definitely didn't help us.

Oregon now has 2 losses. They are out. You don’t want to muddy up the waters with another 1 loss team. Win tonight and we jump them. L’ville win tonight and we jump FSU (if they consider eye test like they say they do). All moot until we win, and we will have beaten #1 from essentially the 6th spot.

Yes, we certainly DID want to muddy the waters with another one-loss team. The loser of that game was always going to fall below Bama, assuming we beat UGA. If the P12 winner had one loss, we would have at least have had an argument over them (all our metrics would be better). I don't have a lot of faith this committee of dumbasses would have done it, but again, at least it would have been an option.

Obviously we'll jump FSU, if they lose.

An undefeated Washington would create no argument with a one loss Alabama.

We'd need Oregon to win.

How people can't understand this is baffling to me.

That's not surprising.

We need Oregon out of the picture completely. A Washington loss wouldn't have necessarily dropped them below us. Just because you say the committee would put us ahead of them doesn't make it so.

Jesus christ.

I'm done arguing about rankings until the SECCG is over.

This is true...of all the teams that have one loss how many fell further than Bama with their loss? Bama isn't getting the respect this year. Wouldn't surprise me at all what the committee will or won't do.

Exactly. Media was all in for Oregon. If they had won, they were definitely in.
