Let's Think About This...

I think IF we were to BEAT Georgia and the committee decides not to put Alabama in the Top 4...Do you all think we should BOYCOTT the bowl game?
I think we should!
I'm being serious... Florida State, Oregon, and Ohio State aren't better than Bama period. If we are being honest Michigan & Texas aren't either. Bama would also have the BETTER resume than all of the teams mentioned.

Assuming we wouldn't be top 4, we would be paired with another team that feels snubbed as well.
We'd need to blow their doors off and show the committee how wrong they were imo.
That said, we're not getting left out with a win over Uga Joka.

It would be a drastic step but I'd be for it. No reason to add any legitimacy to these bowl games if a 12-1 SEC champ is left out. Deny ESPN the ratings if they don't go to bat for us.

No. You have to play in the system you agreed to. Cant pout and sit in the corner.
I’m not one for big conspiracies but I can’t help thinking in back of my mind that the SEC’s only surefire CFP participation this year is with a Georgia win Sat. Thats A LOT of money at stake. Will that influence anyrhing Saturday afternoon at MBS?

The system becomes illegitimate if a 12-1 SEC champ is denied a chance to compete for a national championship.

Alabama isn't turning down millions of dollars and not go to a New Year Six Bowl.
Plus if Bama gets matched up with say Ohio St and blows them out, the AP poll could always award Alabama a National Title.

How about we just worry about beating UGA Saturday

I agree. Just watched the playoff breakdown and that came to my mind.

If we beat UGA and get left out, I'm just going to claim a NC.

LOL! I'm riding with you on that!

100% correct. Ignoring the SEC’s history in the CFP and leaving out the SEC Champion would be out of this world stupid.
That said, they also know that we go to 12 next season and any criticism of the “system” will be short lived.

Well since we are dreaming. It would be awesome if every single SEC sat out of their bowl games.

Are they allowed by SEC by-laws to forfeit millions?

Tonight’s rankings kind of sealed it for me. They’ve put Oregon way ahead of us. We aren’t getting in over them if we both win. We are still behind Texas and they have head to head. I’ve thought it for a month now, but the way they ranked it tonight made it clear that we need Texas or FSU to lose to be able to get in.

Byrne should be on the phone cancelling all future OOC games with Power 5 opponents if we get left out. Take away Texas and we’re probably ranked 1 or 2 and we probably could make a good case that we should be in even with a loss on Saturday.
