Agreed!

why put words in my mouth? You can go to to town brookhaven, or the parks, or the library, or any of the hundreds of restaurants or shows or events or just about anything you want and be fine. Just avoid the places where criminals are known to commit crimes and you'll be alright, same as just about any other city on earth.

I can't think of a single place in Grayson where I'd warn someone "don't go to that neighborhood/complex, especially after dark". But Brookhaven, a "nice" part of ATL, you have to deal with that.
Remember, we are comparing the "nicest" parts of ATL to an average suburb. I'm not trying to compare The Bluffs to Braselton.
Gosh, I haven't even gotten to standardized test scores.

I don't disagree, but that has nothing to do with the point. That fact does not make Atlanta not a shithole. In fact, it confirms it. Why are the surrounding areas getting shittier? Because shite from Atlanta are moving there. shite comes from shite Holes. Get it?
I settled in Peachtree City when I got out of the military in 2015 in hopes of living a somewhat peaceful life for obvious reasons. But crime is picking up compared to when I first moved here. Most of the trash is coming from the surrounding areas.
My mom lives in Canton now and they don't seem to have near the amount of issues we have had in PTC with degenerates in recent years (or elsewhere in south Atlanta). So I've been considering a move there. I work in the city so I can't move far but if I ever get a chance to transfer, I'm getting the hell away from Atlanta. It's my home but it just doesn't feel like home anymore.

I can't remember ever telling someone to avoid an area of Brookhaven.

Chamblee is a damn good high school with test scores and college acceptance stats that compare with the better schools in Cobb and North Fulton (Walton, Lambert, Chattahoochee, Johns Creek, Lassiter).

Oh I missed that question - yea they are redevloping everything right between 85 and Briarcliff on Clairmont.
Express Oil, Benchwarmers, all that stuff is gone or going to be gone.

John Louis Elementary in the heart of brookhaven-
99.1% of kids on free lunch
5th grade milestone assessments have less than 8% of the students meeting the bare minimum state milestones.
Woodward Elementary in the heart of brookhaven-
A little bit better.
Almost 19% of 5th graders are meeting the bare minimum state milestones.
99.2% of kids on free lunches.
Find me any elementary school near Grayson that is even close to that level of shittiness.

Yes, those are bad schools in a different High School feeder zone. We aren't zoned to those schools.
Much like South Gwinnett, Grayson and Shiloh are all average to below average and border Archer's zone.

I found Ashford Park Elementary! Now this is the BEST elementary school in a NICE part of Atlanta! Brookhaven!
Almost 62% of the 5th grade students are meeting the Georgia Milestones!

Which is well above any of the 3 elementary schools zoned to Archer (as is Montgomery ES, the other school that feeds into Chamblee from Brookhaven)
Math/English/Science
Ashford Park ES - 60%/67%/53%
Montgomery ES - 67%/65%/53%
Lovin ES - 40%/38%/53%
WJ Cooper ES - 52%/53%/57%
Harbins ES - 48%/44%/48%
So.....congrats I guess? Not sure your point.

No shite, I came to talk about how we’re going to whup Bama’s arse and instead walked in to a Brookhaven vs. Grayson dick measuring contest.

Listen rig I got no issues with anywhere in the Metro. Love it all. Great place to grow up and live and raise kids.

So this post is misleading, some might say bullshite.... I think that's what we've learned.

It's pretty simple - anything inside the maroon line is either very nice or nice (with some small exceptions). Everything south of it (with the exception of Old 4th and maybe Kirkwood/Edgewood/East Lake depending on your taste) is either redeveloping, a ghost town at night or not great.

You’re talking to the two fanbases who make reservations in August.
