Most importantly they are the #2 most viewed team in '23. That increase in viewers has never come close to happening, ever.

I wonder what percentage of those viewers tuned in hoping to see a live train-wreck?

shite's bound to fall apart when you bring in 86 new players who haven't worked together before. I think he did an admirable job with what he had to work with.

He walked into the weight room last spring, with video cameras rolling - he knew - and he openly in front of the cameras threw a walkon kid off the team on the spur of the moment because he "didn't like the way the kid was squatting"

frick that fricking piece of shite mother fricker

He never tackled anyone when he played. He was scared to bow up and tackle when he played. He covered very well and returned punts very well. He never tackled worth a shite more than 10% of the time.

I'm going to cut and paste something I posted in a thread on the More Sports board yesterday because I haven't changed my mind an iota and I think I was being honest.

The problem is that a bunch of people outside sports, for reasons unconnected to sports … that’s as far as I will go … got enormously, stupendously, unacceptably ahead of their skis with this thing, angering and disgusting the people who prioritize the reasons actually connected to sports and setting up reactions like this.

I was a booster of the guy to start with. Not so much now because the thing has fallen apart, not because of a tough schedule or a lack of talent but because the team is not being prepared or coached like it was at the start and that isn’t acceptable.

I am willing to grant and acknowledge the improvement and I am willing to give him another year before I call it a failure, but I am beginning to have my doubts. And the main reason is because of something a Black writer from Deadspin who you would think would be a big booster but has been on Deion’s case since Day 1 and has pretty much written him off said.

A college football coach must have a personality on both offense and defense, even if it changes a bit along the way. Deion still hasn’t answered that question, or showed that he has a coaching personality, and the world hasn’t changed that much and the influencer crap hasn’t become important enough to negate the set in stone reality that a coach must answer that question to be successful.

Typical cornerback performance: gets beat most of the time, misses a lot of tackles, always needs help over the top, but once in a blue moon makes a pick-6 and suddenly is supposed to shite vanilla ice cream and then talks smack non-stop.

Nothing against CBs, mind you; it's an impossible position.

It's just that his performance as a coach this year pretty much matches the stereotype...

The problem for CU will be that the fall will be worse than the rise. They had several close losses this year that will likely be wins when he brings more talent next year, but the talent he's bringing in and the University itself are completely identified with Coach Prime. When he leaves - and that'll be sooner rather than later - CU will have a mass exodus and be in complete shambles. They won't even have an identity.

He needs to go back to HBCU and just try to be the next Eddie Robinson.

Plus, take him off Aflac commercials with Saban. He couldn’t carry Nick’s water.

He gets a lot of attention for a win over TCU, though since then TCU has shown signs of being in terminal decline.

Colorado has been competitive against some good teams, they've had the brakes beaten off them by some bad teams. In conference play the Buffs are 1-7 and have the worst record in the the dying PAC 12.

He is most assuredly a CEO type coach, so folks think his coordinators can easily pick up the slack. Unfortunately a CEO at least has to have some understanding of what his company does or he is most certainly going to steer it onto the rocks sooner or later.

At some point you have to know the job. Hoping for OTJ training as a high profile head coach is not ideal. Hell, everyone loves Pittman and he's repeatedly shown he simply does not have the skill set to manage a game and he's not learning those skills rapidly.

Sanders got a lot of attention at a bad program and in his first season they are still pretty bad. They will probably do better next year, they get most of the heavy hitters of the PAC off their schedule and the B12 has mostly been defanged with Texas and OKlahoma leaving while TCU is spiraling down the terlet.

Frankly the Sun Belt would be a far more dangerous place to compete in. Still, pencil them in as a low level bowl team. The question is can Sanders attain the skills to be a head coach and does he even want to put in the effort to learn them?

The Buffs were good throughout the 90s and into the 2000’s fwiw. I say that because I was a season ticket holder. NewWeasel won 10 a couple times and Barnett had them back to Coach Mac ball before the wheels fell off.

Sanders is a clown. I pull for him because I pull for Colorado but he’s a clown.
