I agree with all of these Beck superlatives but there is still room for Carson to grow. The deep ball remains a deficiency in absolute terms and relative to Milroe.

Although the deep ball score wows people, I prefer the way Beck takes us down the field with safe intermediate throws. Scoring too quickly doesn't give our defense time to rest.

I agree with this. I’m not saying he’s there now necessarily but he’s improving every week. I do think the deep ball will be there in the upcoming weeks because of the confidence he has in himself and those weapons.

I think we’d all like to see the ball thrown over a receivers shoulder in stride for a quick strike.

That’s said, the slow methodical drive does fit intro CKS’s clock management style of eat clock/score/stop them….eat clock/score/ stop them. You do that three or four times and there isn’t enough time left for them to catch back up if you don’t give up explosives.

If Smart could just get his end of half clock management figured out I’d say he’s working on a different level.
