Offense background

I’m okay with coordinator if they’ve worked under a very successful HC for a long time (Kirby Smart type)

Someone that costs >$8 mill a year. We went super cheap on the last 2 hires and it showed. Both coaches were in over their head.

Going cheap doesn’t bother me as much as going cheap and overpaying to make yourself feel better about it. Sam Pittman and Billy Napier making $6+ million per year when nobody else was offering 4 is the shite that bothers me.

Youngish aggressive offensive coach.

It’s our only chance.

Money doesn’t matter, we went cheap with Muss and he worked out.

Qualifications:

- Young
- a coach that hasn’t been paid, just padding retirement money
- has a blue print on the way he wants each position to look like (Saban, Kirby, Lanning, McVay all have standards size they look for, but will take freak anomalies)
- kind of an a-hole or autistic (like Kirby, Saban, and Desantis)
- fundamentally sound, we get beat so much on basic things

And here is what I have wrote in the past

quote:

Without naming a person, I want a coach who:

- looks like he could win in a fist fight
- is annoyed by dumb questions
- will out recruit everybody
- doesn’t have the poor ol Arkansas mentality
- could do some of the workouts he requires

All those things could be said about Musselman, Van Horn or even Nick Saban. I’m not saying get Nick Saban, but there has to be an up and comer with those attributes.

None of those could be applied to Sam, Bert, John L, or Chad.
