Can we pull a Bear Bryant when Saban retires in 5-8 years? Can we get Demeco to say

“Momma was calling him home?”
He’s an amazing coach. Should win coach of the year in his first NFL HC season.

We live in simulation, there’s no way this is a real take

Demeco is an incredible coach at this point in his young career but he has zero experience coaching in college. He would be a total unknown as a recruiter and he may want nothing to do with having to do that aspect of the job.

Discussing something that might happen in 5-8 years doesn’t seem high on the priority list.
Whenever Nick retires the entire coaching landscape will change. Zero point in making guesses now.

No one with half a brain would give up a head coaching job in the Pros and take a job in college which is now a shite storm of a mess.

I, for one, like the idea and approve this message.

Yet another reason to avoid this board.

Maybe San Francisco is home for him. Spent many more years there than at Bama.

Coaches don't do anything in the modern NFL. It's all about players. Bruce Arians won a Super Bowl. Anybody who remembers Arians' time at Alabama knows that he is a terrible coach.

Who wants to tell him?

Demeco Ryans seems to have hit the young coach lotto: nailed their picks and got their franchise QB and pass rusher before he coached his first game. The roster is coming into its own.
He’s never left the NFL. Pure and simple, being a head coach in the NFL is an easier job than in college. If you can make it there, it’s where you want to be. Best competition. None of the college talent acquisition bullshite.

That Mama called magic only works if the Alabama man is a successful college coach. It doesn’t seem to work when mama calls one home from the NFL.

Ray Perkins? lol
Demeco is doing great, but when that time comes in a few years, the #1 criteria has to be a proven, elite recruiter. It's all about recruiting in college.

Prime has shown how to recruit if you’ve never done it. Ryans could absolutely do the same.

Leaving a head coaching job on a very promising NFL team sure did not work out well for Ray Perkins. You have to admire his loyalty. At the time he probable was not as well suited to be a college coach as he was a pro coach. History has shown following legendary coaches has it's problems. Gene Bartow followed John Wooden and stayed one year, I think, and ended up with a great career at UAB. There are many examples.

Has he even coached at the college level. That would be an indicator if momma is going to come calling.
