Yeah, Peyton was 3rd string at the beginning of the '94 season behind Colquitt & Helton. PM didn't start until later in the season due to injuries (loved Todd Helton, was one of the greatest hitters ever out of the SEC).

I was in Bryant Denny when they played Ole Miss in Eli's second year. Miller went out of the game in the 4th quarter. As I recall Bama was up big. Eli came in and threw a 70 yard bomb down field. Everyone in the stands was like, "Jesus why isn't that guy starting?"
