Getting more playing time as Saban said he would?
Maybe try him on punt returns if not at running back.

If you don't pass protect, you don't play. And from what I've seen and heard, at this point in his career, he doesn't do that very well. I'm certain he WILL learn but when that is, who knows?
It's going to be crazy to see the competition as to who wants to be "The Man" next Spring at RB with Miller, Haynes and Young. And who can pass protect well goes a long way toward winning the job.

#2 whiffs a lot on pass pro.

I think they are starting to mix him in more.. But don't think yesterday was the type of place you put in inexperienced guys when Jase had the hot hand

2 and 5 aren't that great at it either.

Saban is asking for him to transfer.

Not necessarily.
I saw a video this morning with him going back onto the field smoking cigars with Jihaad Campbell. He seemed happy.
He's got 2 seniors ahead of him on the depth chart. He'll get a much bigger workload next year.
I just hope Richard Young stays patient. He enrolled in the Summer so he's behind Haynes from an experience standpoint. I think he could be a fricking hammer for us in the future.

What if "not great" is still better than what Jam and Justice can contribute? One thing this team doesn't need is worse pass pro.
That being said, I'd still like to see both get more carries. I want the best for Roydell, but man, he seems like the weak link in the rotation.

Before our heads fall off, let’s get through the bye week. If I’m not mistaken a lot have young guys get more pt.

Jase and Roydell are seniors. He’s not transferring

If he transfers... Then I would question his mental capacity. Jase and Roydell are seniors. He and jam are the RBs next year. And he runs well...I can see why there is hype, but in against Ark...he lined up to block in pass pro but the ark defender just ragdolled Justice. Another year of nutrition and weight room.. He will be fine

To be fair he played at BT his first three years and they were an old school wing t team so he wouldn’t have to work pass pro much.

I’ve been clamoring for Haynes more than anyone but thinking he’s going to transfer in his current situation is silly. Jase and Roydell are seniors. Regardless of eligibility remaining they’re both gone next year.
It’ll be the Haynes and Young show next year. Miller too.
Justice knows what’s up next year. Same with our young OLBs. PT is just around the corner.

My assumption is his consistency at executing the runs and pass protection is keeping him off the field. But I bet it is mostly pass pro because this team can ill-afford to get worse in any aspect of pass protection. I don't think that is a good enough excuse...went over it in another topic. Short answer: McClellan and Williams don't have enough burst to stretch defenses horizontally on some of the run concepts that require it. The offensive staff needs to figure out how they can get him on the field without it being a dead giveaway run tell.
