They are like the old guy who peaked in high school. Their glory days are a long time ago, but they haven't done anything in their older age. Yet, they continue to act like any of that is relevant to today.

The old tv show The Beverly Hillbillies comes to mind. Do love the Vol Navy concept, though.

As for the players... I don't know, but i would hope that they would be appreciative of the Christmas card that i will send them if they beat bama.
