Thorne leads the team in rushing.

Who could have guessed that before the season?

50 carries for 225 yards for Thorne for 4.5 ypc/ 2 TDs
57 carries for 218 yards for Hunter for 3.8 ypc/ 3 TDs
32 carries for 155 yards for Ashford for 4.8 ypc/ 5 TDs

I knew under Freeze we would have less of an emphasis on bell cows because he did not have that kind of a back at Ole Miss, but its surprising to see this altogether.

So there you have it: despite Thorne being an average thrower and the lesser of the runners, we have put the ball in his hands enough to where he is statistically the BMOC. We need an offensive identity fast.

With 3 good backs too. It is head scratching

Maybe because he's the only one not expected to run; while the rest are accounted for by the lack of any real passing threat.

Honestly Jarquez hasn’t looked anywhere close to what we expected him to look.

Cobb looks like a stud. Play him more.

Maybe it’s because the offensive line still sucks.

If Hunter is not as productive as when Tank was the focal back…..there continues to be a line problem.

I think they put a chastity belt on Quez because there’s no other explanation for how unimpressive he’s been.

We also rank 104 in sacks allowed and 101 in TFL’s allowed.

Credit those to Thorne becoming a deer in the headlights and the O Line being sub par.

I never really understood why so many expected jarquez to be elite. His successes all came from when he benefited from being a change of pace back behind Tank

He averaged 6.5 YPC his first 2 years change of pace or not.

He’s averaging 3.8 this year

Most thought he’d continue those numbers. He Definitely had the potential for a big year.

Well the offense is just awful in every way. Not really surprising one player is struggling.

Maybe Jarquez should move on and be a porn star.

Battie and Cobb run harder.

You can kinda tell Jarquez missed a lot of workouts. He doesnt seem to be as quick. The ofher two backs are just as deserving. If we had gorgeous borges he would know what to do.

Through 6 games regardless of how they have look we are exactly where I thought we would be record wise.

Offense is putrid and defense is average which I thought would be the opposite.

The OL is barely any better than the past few seasons and only reason is they are a tad more consistent not really “better”. Our running backs have to dodge to many defenders behind the line, our QBs rarely get protection.

Recruiting is still the answer. We should be a little better next season but the ‘25 season has been when most expect to see improvement.

There is not 1 player on offense that would start on any team we have lost to. On defense we may have 2 DL Harris and Rogers that would be backups on those teams. Simpson probably the only starter level option on those teams. DJ has the talent but we get zero rush so he has to stay in coverage to long.

The team hasn’t quit they looked very dejected in the 2nd half last night.

Coaching. I understand why Freeze hired an OC so he could recruit heavily in the first 2 years it was the right move. But doesn’t appear to be working at all. And why do we need 4 coaches that work with the QBs. That’s way too many voices. Over coaching causes hesitation.

We get it we don’t have the talent we need to win championships but Hugh has to change his messaging in the press that we are out maned every week. It’s not the 80s any more and the people that matter know where the roster stands.

You have to coach into the offense some fun and free play. Everyone on offense looks wound up tight and not playing free. It’s ok to make mistakes. Move to the next play. We are running zero pace. Pace is how teams with less talent balance out that difference and when we go pace we seem to operate much more fluid. I understand trying to protect a thin defense but you have to score.

There is much more thoughts I have but that’s enough for now.

We’re pretty bad in general. If we’re not down by halftime because of poor execution, we’re having our depth pillaged and raped by end of regulation

We can’t run because we absolutely cannot pass.

Leave Robby in at Qb and suddenly the run lanes will start opening up. Have to trust Ashford to throw the ball

They’ll stack the box.,

Thorne threw two back to back perfect slants last night. We never ran the play again. At least Gus understood, run for ten, run the same play again. OFFensive coordinators drive me nuts. Run a successful play, bury it to next week.
Hell, if the linebackers were saying “ watch for the cross buck” I ran it at them to shut them up. If it worked they saw it again. It’s not rocket science. Unfortunately we have too many coordinating geniuses that think they are space cadets.
