Great game Saturday! Started tailgating at 11:30am and pulled out of the parking lot to head home at 11:30pm. I read some stats that made me look twice.

We threw to 14 different targets with 12 of those targets having at least 1 reception.

We ran the ball with 10 different players with 7 of those having 7+ rushing yards. Vandagriff had 27 yards and Beck had 7.

But I'll take 435 passing yards, 173 rushing yards, for 608 total yards on pretty much any weekend!

GO DAWGS!

A little scary is that Brock had 0 yards rushing on 1 attempt, Clark was -1 with 1 attempt, and Mews was -2 yards on 1 attempt. Edwards and Milton were the work horses.

Kendall looked the best he's been all season. His hamstrings are perpectually gimpy so even when he's playing and "healthy" he seems a bit off sometimes, but Saturday he showed some real burst and quickness. Glad to see that back.

I'm hoping we pull a 2021 and get up huge on vandy early adn sit eveyrone in the seocnd half; with the bye week next let's heal up and get ready for the 2nd half gauntlet. That stretch of UF/Mizz/OM/UT is gonna be tough.

I hope Kirby is still angry with them for bailing on us in 2020.

Milton had a solid game running with power. He had 2 penalties on blocking if I recall that took way from good plays. Needs to clean that up.

Most of it looked like hand placement. He basically was grabbing outside the shoulders as he squared up his blocks. 5 more inches inside and there shouldn't have been any flags (assuming that he could still be near as effective squaring up).

He had some great pass blocking along with those 2 flags as well.
He has been missed.

Honestly, I didn't know we had 14 different available targets!

We have 7 players with 100 yards receiving on the season

We have 2 more players who can add to the list with 10 catches on the season.

Andrew Paul didn’t get many touches, but from my eye test, he looked spry. I found that very encouraging.

When he gets a full head of steam he is hard to bring down. Needs to translate that between the tackles. He is definitely someone who can grow into his role.

Most holding calls on the line of scrimmage are due to the blocker holding the rusher too long. When the rusher gets to the blockers side and tries to pull away the official sees the blockers arms extended and the flag comes flying. If the blocker gets his hands inside the shoulders the official usually lets it slide.

Why hasn't he seen much playing time? Is he still scared of the knee?

I only had the TV copy.
But it looked like Milton did a great job squaring up his blocks.
There was no pulling away.
No extended arms other than just reaching the jersey outside the shoulder pad.

But the hand placements (which is a penalty) were obvious.

Aside from getting the win, I think the two best pieces of news in the game was Kendall Milton looking like a real SEC running back again and Van Prann-Granger coming back in the game after pointing to his knee and the trainers feeling on his knee. That was a serious buzzkill there for a second.

Do we have the best overall receiver group of the Kirby Smart era?

Especially with Rara coming along, we seem absolutely loaded with talent.

I think so and the prediction preseason was that the WR group would dominate the Offense this year

Honestly, we should be throwing it more than running. Having a banged up RB group has made it easy to pick which ratio to go with

Eh idk. Much of that statement would probably be based on Dom and Rara doing well elsewhere but not necessarily here yet.

In 2017 we had Mecole, Ridley, Wims, and Godwin. In '19 we had Pickens, Cager, Kearis, Blalock, and DRob. In '20 it was essentially the same but sub out Cager and add in J Burton.

This year top to bottom we are just incredibly solid all the way around but don't have that one STUD. There is no AJ Green or Pickens type dude.

Paul looks like a load. Reminds me a bit of Gurley.
