What a great weekend of baseball. The defense, the offense, the fans showing out on Saturday.

Next weekend is going to be tough but the boys showed that they are still in it.

I love everything about this game. Love the outing for Zane and the family members who were there to see. Love that Alton seems to have gotten his groove back. Love that Bama has a well rested bullpen with a Tuesday game and a Thursday series coming up. Love that the guys had some timely hitting. Love the improved base running. Love how LeBron has made massive improvements at short stop. Love that the outfield was everywhere they needed to be today. Love having Eblin back. Love skunking the #1 team. Love love love. Roll Tide!

Adams’ Brilliant Outing Leads Baseball to 5-0 Shutout of Top-Ranked Arkansas

The freshman worked 8.0 scoreless frames and allowed just four hits and a walk to go with five strikeouts

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama leaned on starter Zane Adams on Sunday afternoon, securing a 5-0 shutout victory over top-ranked Arkansas at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The series-clinching win moved the 16th-ranked Crimson Tide to 24-12 on the season and 6-9 in Southeastern Conference play.

Adams (3-2) earned the win on Sunday, tossing a gem in the start. The freshman worked 8.0 scoreless frames with only four hits and a walk to go with five strikeouts. He was followed by Alton Davis II, who posted a scoreless ninth with a walk and a strikeout to secure the shutout.

Alabama's offense provided Adams with all the support he would need, scoring one in the third, two in the seventh and adding a pair for insurance in the eighth. The Tide bats registered 10 hits against the Razorbacks with four players contributing two-hit games. Bryce Eblin led the way, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored. He was joined by TJ McCants, Ian Petrutz and Kade Snell, who also added two-hit days.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"It was pretty simple today – it's about Zane Adams. This young pup had a tough outing last start on the road, wasn't as sharp as he usually is, and God bless he was awesome out there today. He had really electric stuff, threw tons of strikes and had unbelievable composure."
