From 2008 to 2022, Alabama lost only 5 games at home. The team that beat Alabama or Alabama won the NC all 5 years.

10 vs Auburn - Auburn
11 vs LSU - Alabama
12 vs A&M - Alabama
15 vs Ole Miss - Alabama
19 vs LSU - LSU

Interesting..

Too bad the streak will end as soon as the bammers lose another game.

Pretty sure 2013 FSU and 2022 Georgia are the only ones this doesn't apply to. Meaningless stat imo

ETA: nevermind, misunderstood. That's actually pretty wild

50/50 shot?

I’ll take those odds.

A&M didn’t win the title but hey, Manziel got the Heisman and that’s enough for college station.

Alabama didn’t lose at home either of those years.. it means that it either woke up Alabama for the rest of the season, or the other team was really damn good.

Either the team that beat them
OR
Alabama

won the title each year they lost at home

I know you’ll get a lot of people saying the streak will end this year but that is a pretty crazy stat! Also equally crazy that Bama has only lost 5 home games in that long of a period of time!

I rewatched the game sober tonight. The win wasn’t nearly as epic as I remember. Lots to clean up. I don’t think there’s a secondary in the country that can hang with Texas if Quinn is dialed in.

the key to stopping QE is something Alabama couldn’t do.. get pressure on him.. if he has time, he throws a great ball, which is why he is so good in practice

The OL and Sark dialing it up were the MVP imo

Bama used to be the barometer of the conference. Such an incredible run they had.

Suppose it’s now UGA riding solo.

Keep in mind both Saban and Sarkisian had the luxury of being able to study up on eachother for a whole arse 3 months before the season even started.

Probably a good reason why Steve goes full retard later in the season because people have all the film on him using his full playbook to beat Alabama.

Sark is mostly running the same offense he ran at Alabama.. there isn’t trickery per se, he just knows how to find the weakness and exploit it.. it’s way above my paygrade, but when I watch other people explain what Sark is doing..

he’s a freaking wizard

Where Sark does run into a little bit of a problem is when the building block plays aren’t working.. he is constantly building blocks out there, which will open up the next play, etc
