Milroe is not the biggest problem with the offense

To get it out of the way... the first pick wasn't great but I think Milroe was confused that the Corner sat in the flats instead of sinking with the vertical. The second pick was terrible and inexcusable...
BUT THE OL IS THE DAMN PROBLEM. Go rewatch it.. slow it down.. people bitch and moan on here that Milroe only goes to his first read.. 90% of the snaps he didnt even have time to look at the 2nd read because the snap was low or someone was already in his face. Everyone on the OL besides Latham was whipped all night and multiple times. How can any QB get in a rhythm when they are under pressure consistently while the defense is dropping 7? It's inexcusable that Texas got pressure rushing 3 multiple times when this OL has been touted as the best in years and should win the Joe Moore.
Jalen is not Bryce, Tua or Mac but he was not the main reason why Alabama lost.

Did the OL throw 2, almost 3, bad interceptions? Stop.

I agree that the Oline was dogshit, and that is the worst possible scenario when you have a bunch of green QBs, and it probably is the biggest problem, which is kind of scary considering the QB spot is a pretty big problem in itself.

The best thing to do is try another QB and find out.

Milroe’s biggest strength is supposed to be his speed. He couldn’t even utilize that. With multiple defenders in the back field most plays he wouldn’t even try to run and the times he did he would slow up at the LOS and then couldn’t make a decision on where to throw it. He held the ball to long and stayed in the pocket like he is a pocket QB.
Not only is he is the biggest problem on offense, he’s the biggest problem on the team.

If Milroe had stepped up in the pocket, he avoids two of the sacks.

I know this is crazy, but maybe....just maybe....it was both

A great QB can make an oline look better than they are. A bad QB can make them look worse than they are.
Considering Milroe is the worst QB to play for us since Spencer Pennington, I'm holding off judgment on the offensive line

Not saying the OL didn’t play poorly, but there were multiple occasions where the OL actually formed a decent pocket and Milroe backpedaled out of it toward the edge rusher each time.

It's gonna be weird for a trivia question about Alabama is "Who is the only QB in Alabama history to have 3 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs in a game?" and the answer is Jalen Milroe.

I think this is more the point. Whether it was Milroe, Buchner, or Simpson no one has a chance against a good defense with that OL.

Sorry, both picks were mind-blowing. He wasn't pressured on either throw. On the first pick, he locked onto Burton, and never even looked at the other 2 WRs on the same side who were breaking open. It really sums up just how bad Milroe is. It wasn't complicated coverage, or pressure that caused the INT. Just a QB locking on his primary WR and throwing it to him hell or high water.
On the second pick...as hard as it is to believe, is even worse. He dropped straight back, OL did a great job, RB picks up the blitz, good clean pocket and he throws it straight to the Texas DB.

I think a halfway decent QB who can make the same read as, oh I don’t know…let’s say the 85% of the fan base yelling “HE’S OPEN” at their tv last Saturday night could at least have gotten the ball out of his hand before taking a sack.
Could the Oline be better? Certainly, but to act like Milroe didn’t have an opportunity to throw the ball most of the night is just beyond dishonest.

You are completely right. Both are problems right now but yet one group was touted as a potential award winner with massive media hype, and one of the problems was known that there would be growing pains no matter who QB1 was or is.
I could go find 100+ posts on here thinking that the OL was going to be a solution to past years problems. Yet I couldnt find 1 post on here that thought any of the QB's in the program could hold a candle to any in the past few years.

So if it’s both is Milroe now equally the biggest problem?

Did we watch the same game? Like honestly, how can you watch that and think the majority of the time it was even close to a clean pocket?

No. How did you take that out of what I said? The OL was supposed to be a strength that HELPED the QB's by protecting well. No matter what QB started they are not close to an elite qb, and that's been known. The OL being TERRIBLE wasnt known until Texas's front 4 (sometimes only 3) whipped their arse.

Uhmm, most of the passing game was supposed to be short (quick). The pass should be out before the pass rush could get to the QB.
Our pass rush has been complained about a great deal since Saturday night. They used a passing game that did not allow the edge rush to be part of the game (for the most part). But that requires the the DB's not know where the ball is going even before the WR's know.

Did Milroe call the plays?
How many times did Texas run quick screens on the perimeter? Probably 10?
How many times did Bama? 0
