Mel Tucker vs Matt Corral…who is dumber?

I’m gonna have to go with Tucker because he’s older and presumably wiser, while I suspect there may be mental illness involved with Matt Corral (if so I sincerely pray he gets the help he needs). And I doubt Matt Corral would have ever sniffed the money Mel Tucker just cost himself.
Still, Corral just cost himself the best job in the world (NFL backup QB).
On a side note, how sad do you think MSU power brokers really are over this? They can feign outrage and embarrassment, but they are probably ecstatic that they are now off the hook for that ridiculous contract.

What did Matt Corral do? He skipped practice or something because of depression related stuff?
I dont think dumb is the word unless there is a new development.

Corral seems to be going through mental issues so I wouldn't put it in the same category as Tucker who was just dumb.

I'd just chalk up Matt Corral's issues to depression and off the field issues
Mel Tucker was completely retarded though, he's even done this MORE than ONE TIME
Michigan State got real lucky that the buyout won't be enacted

When I first saw this I had wondered if Peyton Thorne got wind this was coming. In a interview he said his leaving was an “all of the sudden” move and did not want to go into in.
This stuff with Mel has been under investigation quite some time.

I was deliberate in titling this dumber and not sleazier. Definitely no comparison when it comes to integrity.
Remains to be seen what happened with Corral, or we may never know. Was it mental health issues, or did he go on a bender? If the latter, that still could fall under mental health issues.
Really just a matter of what the two of them cost themselves. No doubt Tucker is a scumbag, while Corral apparently is someone who needs some help.

thought the same thing. In the interview where he addressed it he was choosing words carefully

I usually allow things like the Mel Tucker situation play themselves out, but that guy is an idiot even if he's innocent. Why in the world of all the people you could involve yourself with sexually would you choose this person? We as men have to make smarter decisions. Again, I don't know if he's innocent or guilty, but he's definitely a moron either way.

Here's the kicker:
He's done this multiple times. Mel is a fricking idiot.

Really? I have not heard that, or maybe I forgot.
DumbEST would be Michigan State for hiring him, especially considering they are the school who enabled larry nassar.

Serious question…have you ever personally been around or interacted with someone who battled depression?

Yes I have and I have battled it myself, and know what it’s like to have clouded judgment when it a state of depression or extreme anxiety. I am not an athlete or public figure, so my lapses in judgment cost me in terms of relationships but not in terms of job status, thankfully, and if it had we are hardly talking about millions of $’s at stake.
I believe I qualified my statement to indicate we don’t know what happened with Corral and that it could have been mental health related, and that I meant dumber in the sense of how much each cost himself, and was not comparing on basis of integrity. Did not mean to make light of mental illness at all.
Just read headlines of both stories one after the other and thought there’s a case of two guys who just threw away their futures and cost themselves a lot of money. That’s the only similarity.

Tucker stuff went under investigation in December so it’s totally possible Thorne (and Keon Coleman) got wind of it during the spring and decided to head for calmer seas.
On the other hand, not sure going to play for Hugh Freeze to get away from your current sex scandal plagued coach is a well thought through decision, but any port in a storm.

Something really doesnt sit right about the claim knowing what the woman does for a living and the coach knowing that as well. She would know exactly what to do, what to claim, and what to demand in eturn because she has studied it for so long. So yeah, he may have stepped out on his marriage, but what he did legally or not is up for grabs. I read the words "phone sex rape" back-to-back-back earlier so tell me this makes fricking sense at all. What in the world is academia pushing on us now.
Meanwhile, I liked Corral when he was at Ole Miss. Kinda envious as well. He had the talent to make defenses look silly, and I'm sure he had at least 200broads in his bed while in Ole Miss as well. Even he is vulnerable and is not superman.
And to the guy that got his arse beat in Auburn in a video now viral, you were vulnerable too. Not because of a disorder, but because parents failed, society failed, and soy milk chugger neihtbors would rather watch and snicker as your arse got beat into a coma. It took a woman to have some balls and try to help.
How is everyones else's "hooray humanity" day?

Yeah?… but it’ll still sure as hell land your career in the ‘ol shitter.

If ONLY there was a relativity contemporary example that could be used as a proverbial “Cautionary-Tale”?

I will continue to believe Mel Tucker is being railroaded. They had a great season a few years back, but the performance hasn’t been sustained, and they don’t want to pay the buyout.
Now all of a sudden you get these bizarre accusations and reports about sexual misconduct. Seems way too convenient for Michigan State.
