But Schrader's a great guy. His girls love him!
Drink loves whomever is telling him what he wants to hear.

You may be dead wrong about evaluating talent. I think he just took whomever he likes the best no matter of their talents.

Less to do with peat tonight , but I did say, both RB are back ups at this level. Peat always looked like the Better back

I don’t think he was ready to be a SEC coach. He was 37 when he got the job and he is learning as he goes. I think when looking for a coach 4 years ago the athletic department didn’t want to spend $6 to $7 million on a coach that might leave after a few years or pay a coach they fired.
By hiring a “talented offensive minded young coach” the AD thought they would have more control over the program. The first few years of Drink is what they expected or better. They knew he would make some bad decisions, but would learn as he goes.
He is probably going to be here for awhile.
Most of post are about how he his bad evaluating talent and game day coaching. Those are just a few things he has to fix. A few of my problems is that he seems to coach not to lose and his defensive remarks after games/not taking responsibility for decisions he made. The worst problem is playing Cook. When Bazelak QB most of us did want him to play Cook.
He does have some good attributes to go along with his bad. Most of his good has come from off the field decisions. He is a good salesman
1. Drink has a done a good job hiring assistant coaches.
2. Him and his staff has done a better job at recruiting in-state(ESL too)players than past coaches.
3. For some reason he has helped sell more tickets to home games
4. Over the last year he helped get more NIL money than I thought he could
5. He helped make a big push for the state NIL law
He is still young and can get better at on the field play calling. One of the reasons he was hired was for his offensive mind and his offense has been bad for 3 years, but he has not had a regular season losing record and that’s not bad for a new Mizzou coach that was left with very little offensive talent especially in the SEC.
I’m not even close to 100% sold on Drink. I do think he will get better, but so do most young coaches.
Pinkel was 51 when he had his 1st winning season and 53 when he had his 2nd winning season at Mizzou. Pinkel’s 1st 3 seasons he was 17-19 the same as Drink.
I got really excited early with Pinkel. I went to the bowl game his 3rd year and watched his team play terrible and lose to Arkansas. After losing to Kansas and having a losing record the next season like a lot of fans I was ready for him to be fired.
