Nico has already seen the field, while freshman Murphy for Texas got the nod before Arch. I thought Arch was this generational talent and was gonna push Ewers for the starting job? I think we all know why Arch was rated so high to begin with?

Another freshman really got playing time over him? Wow.
Nico looked really good in his limited action.
Great pocket presence and ability to sende and move away from the rush.

Maalik is a second year freshman.

MAALIK Murphy Freshman stats from Rice Game:
3/5, 40yds passing. He has beat Arch out for the backup spot.

And Arch couldn’t beat him out? You think Arch is gonna back him up for 2 more years after this year? Looks like Arch was all hype and no action.
I think it’s clear that Nico was the top QB and player out of that class.

Still not a good look imo. The staff must feel like he's not coming along very quickly.

They will see soon. I expect to see lots of Nico this weekend.

Would not surprise me if he played the entire 2nd half. We scoring 50 in the first half, so no need to run Milton back out for 2nd half

Can’t help if ESPN/247 desperately need the hype clicks. Not one soul in Austin thinks that.
Sark pours cold water on Manning expectations.

He should be. Didn't you guys pay more for Nico that they did for Manning-lite?
Whatever they paid was too much... but I thought Nico was in the A&M NIL range for stupid money.

The plan has always been for Arch to REDSHIRT! Bunch of retards around here

Yes, because it would be silly to risk injury to Milton and not get Nico any meaningful snaps before we enter the meat of our schedule.

You can tell from Manning's film that he was a developmental player with a big name. He has the genes to be a great player, but he is not there yet.

You won't be saying that starting next year.
You think we are going to listen to advice from Arky fans regarding football? lmao.
A legit game changer at QB is absolutely required to play at very a high level in this conference.
See Cam, Johnny football, Tebow, Burrow, Dobbs, Hooker and Stetson for recent reference. Heck Bryce Young single handedly saved Alabama from sucking last year. Dobbs made Butch look like a decent early hire. The list goes on.

Developmental? He’s probably had better coaching than any freshman in the country.

I actually agree. I'd rather have Nico. Arch was overrated as shite coming out of high school. He may mature into being a hell of a QB, but he has a lot work to do.

Look at it this way. Our offense shouldn't take any steps back next year nor 2025. Heupel is securing his future abd legacy at Tennessee.
I'm still a tad bit shaky on Milton tbh.
He's improved big time and has all the talent in the world, but i saw shades of Hooker and Dobbs when Nico came in this weekend.
Just his feel for the game and presence back there was impressive. It matched up to all the glowing reviews of him during spring and summer camps in the off season.

Not if he's a generational talent. I guess that's why Nico isn't redshirting and Manning is.
We know Nico's not gonna be in Knoxville four years.

You're developmental.

A runner-up divisional finish and win against a UVA squad that may not win a game has the Vols contingent talking about their coach’s legacy.
