I suggest they break out their dirges. The shorthorns knew this crap was coming back and in a hurry. If that bothers them, then next time read the contract. It says, Home and Home.

They shouldn't allow the visiting team band anyway imo. Home field advantage.

Then the home team can do their Tom Petty tribute in relative peace.

They have no idea what they are getting themselves into.

Well bless their hearts.

Don't you just get the feeling that the Bama-Texas game going forward is gonna be pretty good and very intense. Texas hates Bama and I can tell you for a fact the feeling is very mutual. The 09 BCS title game got nasty between the fans at the Rose Bowl.

It bothers them? They're still bringing a band when Alabama chose not to bring one whatsoever.

Once Texas is in the SEC, they're going to allot seats in the lower bowl for away fans just like every sec team already does. They're just not required to yet. So if that means our fans and band have to sit in the upper deck at away games in the second half in a home and home, so be it; everybody understands.

Plus, y'all act like this is the first time Texas has been asked to sit in the upper deck before (it's not):

SEC members don't pull that chickenshit stuff like putting the band at the top. It's in the bylaws actually to have space reserved for the opponents fans in the lower bowl and field level. Good thing you're not a member school yet. Hopefully this will be the last time UT pulls that bullshite.

Yeah, I'll get the tiniest violin to replace them...did the same shite to us and it led to our band not attending last year.

So it was a choice. Coming to the SEC and still sending that message to ALABAMA may not have been in your best interest. Your governor running his mouth about BAMA might be another.

I would say that this looks like the shorthorns are struggling to handle success, but you haven't had any.

Lol did you read the post you responded to? I literally said the same thing: Texas isn't required to do that, so they have opponents sit in the upper deck and then sit in the upper deck in away games. Literally nobody from Texas is complaining about this

Yes - when Texas is a member of the SEC, they'll allot tickets for visiting fans in the lower bowl. They're currently a Big 12 team, so they don't have to do that. Apparently fanbases of other schools in other conferences take that really really personally

Why not? We don't give a shite where you put our band. It's not like we didn't know you weren't going to respond in kind when we did it to you last year.

All these "they don't know what they're getting themselves into" takes are so corny and reek of insecurity.

Kinda excited. For big games, the lower bowl has always had a big away section. From my understanding, we gave 0.0 lower bowl tickets to Texas. frick ‘em I guess

Apparently we're supposed to bow down to every SEC team that plays in Austin at the expense of our own fans, because "SEC"

And they call our fans arrogant

ETA: LOL look at all the downvotes this got. My god some of y'all are soft. Isn't it telling that Alabama is the school doing it this year, and yet no complaints are coming from Texas fans while Alabama (and their SEC dickriders) are STILL crying about it from over a year ago?

And you won't be playing every SEC team in Austin on Saturday night.
