Has Mississippi State ever beaten an ACC team?
Serious question, bc I know y'all went a really long time without scheduling OOC games vs P5 schools until the SEC forced y'all too bc it was getting embarrassing. And bowl games were rare for y'all until Mullen, so I can't imagine there's been too many opportunities for y'all in the last few decades

MSU has beaten ACC teams. Most recently NC State twice. Once in a bowl game and during regular season.

Mississippi has more players in the NFL per capa than any other state. MSU ranks pretty high on the numbers of players it sends to the NFL.

1999 beat Clemson in peach bowl
2011 bear wake forest music city bowl
2015 belk bowl NC State
2017 Taxslayer bowl beat Louisville
2021 NC State regular season
Only losses I can think of are 2014 to GT in orange bowl and 2019 Louisville in music city bowl

Clemson: 1-1-1
GT: 0-3
UNC: 1-1
WF: 1-0
Some of the above games may have been against teams when they weren't in the ACC. I just looked at the records and not when the games were played. They are also 0-1 against Maryland.

PS, I expected most of these games to be in the 80s/90s since you said you played them when they were "really good"
Well I looked, and the last time y'all played FSU was in 1979, all games took place in the 60s/70s. They had some really bad seasons in there, and were "mid" at best in that time frame. In fact, one y'all's 2 wins over FSU came in a season in which they went 0-11.
BUT credit where it's due, the win #2 over FSU came in 1978, Bobby Bowden's 3rd season in Tallahassee, and they finished 8-3, sandwiched by a couple 10+ win seasons
But, major props on those two wins over Miami, which both came in Howard Schnellenberger seasons in 80 and 81, both years they finished ranked
