Not releasing a depth chart was about the defense. No drop-off

We're crazy deep on the defense. And, virtually the entire secondary is versatile and interchangeable.

Wrong. It was about QB. Saban even directly said we may see a similar QB situation to 2017.

He's preparing the fanbase in case we need to yank Milroe at some point. Period.

That doesn’t make sense. Milroe was obviously a clear #1 tonight and we can assume will be next week. Nobody else took a snap until it was 42-0.

Yes, Milroe is #1 right now.

I think, and hope that will change soon. He's not a good enough passer. I don't know how many times we have to see the same movie before people get it. We've never won shite with a running QB who is a limited passer.

Do we really need to see the same story over again with Milroe? Grinding out wins thanks to his deep ball and running ability, but we lose the games that really count?

Do you really want to see that movie again, because I don't. Give me the best passing QB, and let's be done with this madness.

I know the fans are all giddy about Milroe right now, but everyone was giddy about Blake Sims after the Florida game too. I'm telling you it's the same bullshite, and you'll all see that I'm right.

How do you watch the game tonight and think Jalen can't pass? He made some beautiful throws.

By the way, there were tons of encouraging things that we saw tonight.

Our 2 coordinators are both substantial upgrades. We looked great on defense.

The playcalling on offense was great (especially compared to BOB)
I think we're still unsettled at the QB position, and that is going to cost us at some point. That's my takeaway. I don't think Milroe is our best option, but he makes it hard to take him out of the game because right when you think he's starting to stink it up, he breaks off a big run or throws a deep ball. It's the same shite we saw with Blake Sims - so many times he was on the brink of being taken out, but then he does something amazing.

I'm happy with beating MTSU - I guess. I mean we blew out our cupcake just like many teams did this weekend.

I'm still concerned about next week and beyond with Milroe.

Blake Sims had a pretty damn good year. Put up 35 points in the playoff loss, the defense lost that game. If Milroe can pass as well as Sims did in 14, Bama’s going to have a great year.

Yeah see a lot of fans seem to have this mentality of "If we can just reach the playoffs or win the SEC this year, that's a big win in my book! I'd be happy if Milroe ended up as good as Blake Sims!"

That's just not me. That's a loser mentality. I WANT A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. I may be one of the few fans that still believes that a natty is the standard here.

You really are dense. You just glossed over the defense lost the 2014 playoff game. Point being, with the rest of the team and coaching around him and his running ability if Milroe can pass as good as Sims then they should compete and play for a title.

Don’t engage with him. His one and only goal is to troll this page. Look at how many people downvote his posts. There is a group of trolls on here that coordinate with each other.

He held the ball a little too long a couple of times resulting in sacks. But when that guy runs, you can hear the opposing sideline gasp for breath

And who is the best passing QB? Milroe played as well or better than any of the others who trotted out there last night, but none have his extra dimension. Taking a bad snap to the house on skill alone is hard to defend against (PSA: center had multiple bad snaps with multiple QBs, which is honestly more of a concern than Milroe's passing at the moment. And, I believe he played VERY well outside of holding a couple of balls a bit too long).

I agree with you. But I do believe that Buchner and Simpson are very good runners in their own right. Both of them had rushing plays last night and scored on rushing plays. Granted Simpson scored on a QB sneak.

I was much more impressed by Buchner scooping the snap off the deck, hanging in the pocket, and almost immediately firing a strike 20 yards down the field, layering the ball just behind the linebacker. That's the play that Milroe CANT make, and against tougher competition, that's the play that will win.

Who is the best QB? It's either Buchner or Simpson.
I know that Milroe can take off on dazzling runs, and he throws a nice deep ball, but he's a one-read guy who is slow to process and has to stare down his target.

Milroe will destroy middling teams with his running and deep ball, but against real competition we need a QB who can consistently make 15 yard throws on like 2nd and 12. We need a QB who we feel confident can drive down the field in 2-minute and make 8 nice downfield passes in a row.

You guys know what I mean.
We've seen how things go when we try to play the running QB who is a limited passer. I'm just uninterested in seeing that same thing play out again
