bottom of 6 and we still up. Beavers pitched well first game and I think the two runs were unearned. She has a slight drop low in the zone that has them fooled.
We still leaving too many on the bases and some of the ladies are not having good at bats. Not making Rothrock work hard. Anyone it is a good game

How exciting to barely squeak out not getting swept at home.

Beavers is the real deal which does give me some hope. UF will be one of the better hitting teams in the SEC. Still not a murph fan.
Beavers pitched well enough game one to win as the two runs she gave up were unearned. But I would not be surprised if we finish 500 in league play.

Has anyone seen Briski pitch before her injury ? Is she good enough to be the ace after this year or we looking in the portal again?

A decent crowd on a beautiful night at Rhoads. It’s tough to call the 3rd game in conference play a “must win”, but that’s pretty much what this was. As disappointing as last night was, tonight at least gives a glimmer of hope for the season. Fielding was much better and Beaver was excellent - both as a pitcher and in fielding the ball (she’s the best I’ve seen in the circle in terms of fielding - leading to two double plays tonight). Eight hits - just didn’t string them together at the right times. Fewer pop ups and more ground balls. Proud of the ladies for not folding. It might be a distant memory in a few weeks but I’m going to enjoy this win tonight. RTR!

Alabama softball avoided the series sweep with a 3-0 shutout over Florida Monday night at Rhoads Stadium.
After posting a combined four hits in the first two games, Alabama (20-3, 1-2 SEC) scored three runs on eight hits in Monday's finale while holding the Florida (21-4, 2-1 SEC) offense scoreless on five hits, all of which were singles. Marlie Giles drove in the first run of the game on an RBI single, part of a 2-for-2 day at the plate while fellow sophomore Kenleigh Cahalan also posted a two-hit game batting eighth. Bailey Dowling started the fourth inning with a solo home run, her second long ball of the season. In the circle, Kayla Beaver (8-1) threw the complete-game shutout, just the second shutout loss this season for the Gators and her sixth complete-game effort of the year.
From Head Coach Patrick Murphy
"You have to have short term memory when it comes to softball. If you let setbacks or losses linger, that's never good. I've had to learn that the hard way over my coaching career. If I don't get over it, the players won't get over it. You just have to start fresh. I think our group realizes that the game against Alabama is circled on everyone's calendar. It doesn't matter who they are. We have to bring our best every single game because we're getting everybody else's best. [Kayla] Beaver pitched great tonight and I think a lot of people overlook her defense. She has been terrific defensively, especially tonight."

not getting swept
Glad we didn't get swept but it looks like we only have one pitcher who can give us a chance to win against SEC teams. It doesn't look promising for us to win most series against SEC teams.

I think the pitching is good enough to finish in the top half of the league. It is the hitting and fielding that is damning for this team.

It will be a quick turnaround for 14th-ranked Alabama (19-3) as it hits the road for a Wednesday matchup against No.16 Florida State (15-5) in Tallahassee. First pitch between the Crimson Tide and Seminoles is set for 6 p.m. CT live on the ACC Network.
