What is considered a "successful" season at your school?

For OM, 8-4 is a win. It just is. Anything over 8 wins and we hangin' banners bitches! 7 wins is survivable, 6 wins or less is a problem. What say ye?

But have you ever referred to Aggie as 8&4 or whatever

The standard is quickly changing, but I would say beating 2/3 of Florida, Auburn, and Tech and making the SECCG and a NY6 bowl
ETA: That would be a massive disappointment this year but in general I'd consider it a "successful" season

I was always happy with 10 wins until the playoffs came along. Now, 10 is meh.
Also, 10 wins per season can get meh with no championships of any kind to throw in with them.

Are you distingushing "good" seasons from "successful" seasons? Or are you combining them both?

I’d say 8 or 9 wins at this point.
Historically, we were happy to win enough to make a bowl game.

When we circle jerked after every game as a ritual

For 2023 in particular I'd say making the playoffs
Under Richt I'd say more tahn 10 wins was a slam dunk successful seaosn. We won 10 games a bunch of times when it felt like our season sucked.

I think 9 wins and beating one of Florida, Georgia or Bama constitutes a good year for us.

Going into 2023 it's 10 wins. Hopefully this expectation will rise in the future.

9 wins is always a good season in Oxford. But I recall the 2009 season where we won 9 games and people were upset. That might've been because of our wild preseason overhyping, or maybe it was because Houston Nutt was our coach, or maybe it was both.
8 wins can be acceptable. This year it wasn't, mostly because of our late season collapse. But in 2013 it was, as it was our first decent season in a while and we capped off the season with a bowl win (and we upset LSU).

I get that circumstances alter things. Not all 10 win seasons are created equal, but generally speaking, every school has a standard by which success is measured. At this point for UGA, I'm guessing anything short of a Natty would disappoint most Dawg fans, thus a 13-1 season would technically be unsuccessful...

8 wins as well... and boy have we sucked!
7 is ok, 6 is a breather for a newish coach.... Less than puts you on the hot seat fairly quickly unless you have accomplished a 9 win season recently.
Nutt lasted as long as one could with the above situation. Petrino was gold until he wasn't. Bert... Boy.... Idiot. we all know he rest.

I'd be "fine" with 13-1 this year. Can't win them all and it'd be the epitome of entitlement to be pissed after the run we've had.
That said, if we are 13-1 with a playoff loss to a surprise GO5 team, then frick that shite.

LSU set the standard ridiculously high with its most recent title. Any 10-win season should be considered a success. This year, there will be LSU fans griping if LSU only wins 9-10 games.

National title. Sorry but it's been that for a long time. Even during the sanction days when we were winning 4 games, as soon as we came off of that it was time to win it all.
Lots of seasons at Alabama were great but forgotten. Perkins had good teams, Curry never had a "bad" season but they weren't enough.
11-2 is great at most schools but Bama fans, and everybody else, talk about how the Tide sucked last year. It's crazy but 11-2 is a failure. Bama might as well have won 5 games because it's looked at the same.
