Where should I eat tonight?

Looks like Fville is going to be regular rotation for me, so multiple suggestions are allowed.

City Park (all outdoor, so probably not in this heat)
Xuma
Pizzeria Ruby

There's a small list to get you started.

Downtown/Dickson

Big boy wallet: Atlas or Vetro, maybe Theos.

Classic college town places: Hugos, Damgoode Pizza, Hammontrees, US Pizza

Breakfast tacos: Doomsday Coffee

Others: Cheers on the Square, Emelia's (mediterranean), Tula (upscale latin), Wasabi (Japanese), Marley's Pizza.

There's a lot of other stuff down there now that I am not super familiar with.

Elsewhere in town...

Personal favorites:
Thai - Sala Thai southside
Smitty's
Wright's BBQ (johnson)
Pizzeria Ruby (johnson)
Well Met Cafe (johnson) - think breakfast in Seattle minus the homeless drug addicts

Smokey dive bar with a killer cheeseburger basket: Art's Place, north college ave.

Decent BBQ with smokin waitstaff: Sassy's Red House

Best kept secret is the neighborhood pubs. Crisis Brewing, Mad Rooster, Fossil Cove, Nomad's Trailside, Boston Mountain Brewing, West Mountain Brewing.

That's real Fayetteville.

It's kind of flattering to hear of an actual business traveler to NWA ask about Fayetteville. We have a good restaurant scene, it just gets overshadowed by Bentonville these days.

Bentonville is like a college town for rich 30-somethings, though. It is well-deserved, but it takes some getting used to for me as a Fayetteville die-hard.

A few more hometown local Fayetteville faves:

Mockingbird Kitchen
Penguin Ed's B&B BBQ (atmosphere mostly, old 1960s place, walk to Crisis Brewwing)
Prelude Breakfast Bar
Pesto Cafe
Cafe Rue Orleans
Southern Food Co (be advised it is "out Wedington" which doesn't feel like real fayetteville)
Buttered Biscuit (good luck getting a table)

I should have put Leverett Lounge on my first list too. That KFC (Korean fried chicken or the cauliflower substitute) is amazing.

On a totally unrelated note, it's wild that Bentonville, Arkansas is a stone's throw from Oklahoma and Missouri, and not that far from Kansas.

The actual physical location of that and Fayetteville within the state makes the old SWC affiliation much more logical.

For some reason NWA is such an anomalous area geographically to me, at least in my head.

It is like its own little state. Culture, geography, economics. I love it up here but it is an odd egg compared to the rest of the state.

Also, for 808bass, no trip to Fayetteville is complete without trying to survive a night at Bottom's Up. Come for the nude dancers, leave because of the drug dealers, cockroaches, and drug dealing cockroaches.
