Per Arkansas S&C Coach Ben Sowders, Arkansas 4 offensive players (RB AJ Green, WR Andrew Armstrong, WR Tyrone Broden, and WR Isaiah Sategna) have been clocked in at over 22mph during summer workouts.

quote:

DB Malik Chavis was also clocked at over 22 mph to bring the total players to hit that mark to 5!

Arkansas only had 1 player hit 22mph last season.

quote:

At the beginning of Fall Camp, Arkansas RB Rocket Sanders is weighing in at 242 lbs, squatting 550 lbs, and running 21 mph. Per Ben Sowders “He could have [squatted] more, but at the end of the day I need him to run the ball for the Hogs.”

RB AJ Green
Didn't really happen last year when I predicted it but I'm gonna double down on AJ coming up huge. He's got a monster year in him. More than talented enough.

Seems like Davion Dozier has made a solid impression early on.

Whatever it is, it’s better than we’ve had

Herb is doing pretty good at Michigan now. Good chance our problems when herb was here wasn’t related to herb

-Perhaps the most damning statistic of Bret Bielema’s tenure at Arkansas was his record when leading entering the fourth quarter. He was just 10-13 (.435) in games the Razorbacks led by 1-14 points through three quarters. In fact, Bielema lost the last five games in which that was the case – including the final two games of his tenure. Bielema lost 34 games at Arkansas, so that means he had a lead with 15 minutes remaining in 38.2 percent of his losses.

-To illustrate just how bad that is, the rest of the SEC was 174-41 (.809) when holding a 1- to 14-point lead through three quarters over the last five years. All 13 of Arkansas’ conference foes have a better winning percentage than the Razorbacks in those games, with the closest being Tennessee at .571 (8-6 record).

Similarly, previous head coaches at Arkansas dating back to 1966 compiled a 124-28-3 record (.810) when leading by 1-14 points entering the fourth quarter. Excluding interim coaches John L. Smith and Joe Kines, that winning percentage increases to .819.

-Contrary to popular belief, this wasn’t an issue that followed Bielema from Wisconsin, as he was 27-5 (.844) in these games during his seven years with the Badgers. Interestingly, though, he lost his final two games when holding a 1- to 14-point lead entering the fourth quarter at his previous school.

Yes. I looked at all the games from 2013 to 2017 and counted roughly 18 games where he had the lead in the third quarter and lost at the end of regulation or OT.

2013 season.

In the third quarter against Rutgers, Arkansas had a 24-14 lead.

Lost 28-24.

In the third quarter against State, Arkansas had a 17-10 lead.

Lost 24-17 in OT.

In the third quarter against LSU, Arkansas had a 27-21 lead.

Lost 31-27.

Arkansas should have been 6-6.

2014 season.

Arkansas had a 28-14 lead in the third quarter against the aggies.

Lost 35-28 in OT.

Arkansas trailed Bama 7-6 in the third quarter.

Lost 14-13.

Arkansas tied State 10-10 in the third quarter.

Lost 17-10.

Arkansas had a 14-6 lead against Missouri in the third quarter.

Lost 21-14.

So roughly Arkansas was between a 8-4 and 10-2 team that year.

2015 season.

Arkansas had a 14-13 lead in the third quarter against the aggies.

Lost 28-21.

Arkansas had a 42-31 lead against State in the third quarter.

Lost 51-50.

Arkansas trailed Bama 10-7 in the third quarter.

Lost 27-14.

Arkansas trailed Texas Tech 28-24 in the third quarter.

Lost 35-24.

Arkansas trailed Toledo 16-7 in the third quarter.

Lost 16-12.

Arkansas could have been between a 9-3 and 11-1 team.

2016 season.

Arkansas had a 24-14 lead in the third quarter against Missouri.

Lost 28-24.

Arkansas had a 24-21 lead against Virginia Tech in the third quarter.

Lost 35-24.

Arkansas should have finished 9-4.

2017 season.

Arkansas had a 28-24 third quarter lead against the aggies.

Lost 50-43.

Arkansas had a 21-14 lead against State in the third quarter.

Lost 28-21.

Arkansas trailed TCU 14-7 in the third quarter.

Lost 28-7.

Arkansas trailed Missouri 38-35 in the third quarter.

Lost 48-45.

Arkansas was a 6-6 team but could have easily been 8-4.

So it wasn't just the games that he had a lead in but any close game the Bert would just collapse mentally.

The competition that Bert faced in the Big 10 was vastly inferior to the SEC.

When you face against teams that have the same or better talent than you are then the decision making process has little room for error.

He didn't face that problem in the Big 10 where Wisconsin was superior than the far majority of teams.

It just makes you appreciate coaches like Broyles, Holtz, Hatfield and Petrino.

I'm hoping the depth will help with that. Dubinion, Green, and Dominique are all great options as backups. Hoping that opens up space for KJ to run less and stay healthy

I am starting the Davion Dozier hype train. Absolute steal of a 3 Star.

If we can move KJ from "we gotta have you run for these yards" to "We gotta have you have throw for these yards" we can win some big games this year.

Enos did a good job of using tight ends and if he can develop 3rd down plays with them it’ll take pressure off of KJ hopefully.
