I will check for you tomorrow, but I would bet that georgia has a better record than Oklahoma in the last 25 years, which is what the criteria was...the last 25 years. Again, there is little to no doubt Oklahoma is historically better and has a history we only wish we had.

but to say everything points to UGA and OU zero cmon your stretching it a bit .
In the last 25 years it is true. I went by your metrics. If you don't like the statistics then don't use them. You brought the timeline up, I didn't.

It’s fun to see who still gets hurt when they don’t land a kid. Mojo cracks me up bc he eats up everything their recruiting guys (homers) feed him. I ran out of ways to tell him to not get his hopes up too early. Can’t count your chickens until they hatch.

I read this thread today, before the announcement. I was thinking this before I came across your post.
Props for how level-headed you are about recruiting; would be a great thread if everyone were this way

In fairness to Mojo, we all still get hurt when we don't get a kid....especially when we think we are the leader. And we all still buy in when an insider (whether official insider or not) gives us good news.

Okay I am not happy would be the word he didn’t commit to OU… hurt far from it …

Yes I do enjoy recruiting it makes in interesting in off-season and UGA fans have become as obnoxious as any I assume you realize that without saying but just in case now you know … last year OU got the number 1 and 3rd player out of Missouri …. Each year is different and each player is different . In this case he misled a bunch of people which is the norm nowadays for some …. It’s what it is ….The sites I use usually have a hit rate of 40-60 percent for 5 star recruits it’s 10 dollars a month and I always realized that every site thinks they have the info … there was a reason this time because the kid told every school till the end he was favoring them.

Yah I heard the last trip to UGA turned him off of them….distance a factor as well. Down to OU Missouri pretty confident about that but it’s recruiting and wierd things happen all the time …. Hoping him being at OU more than any school and another 300 pound dl commited to OU in 2025 class so that makes Lee Summit North a pipeline for OU ;)

Yeah you put this out there - FALSE.

Absolutely. It's all fun, and we tend to get too bought in sometimes.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the records of Georgia and Oklahoma over the last 25 years.

Oklahoma: 252-77
Georgia: 257-71

Eerily similar. Both have been very good in the last 25 years, but Oklahoma has the edge.

On3 Recruits
@On3Recruits

Just a few days after he committed to Missouri, Five-Star Plus+ DL Williams Nwaneri was sporting Oklahoma gear during his team’s scrimmage

I think there is maybe 10% or less chance he flips to OU. And he is just having fun with it, which is refreshing these days.

But if he ever did flip, he left the door open just a crack:

quote:

“Oh yeah. They’re still recruiting me and all that,” he said. “But I’m gonna let everything play out. I’ll let the whole season play out. I don’t know. I’m committed to Mizzou though. Just having fun with it. Showing love. All that.”

quote:

He also explained why he held Oklahoma in such high regard for so long. “Mostly just my relationships with coach (Miguel) Chavis and coach (Todd) Bates,” he said. “I probably had one of my best relationships with them. It was always love with the coaching staff. And I like the scheme there and all that.”

Coaches still on him Missouri better hope we don’t get him ……why everyone thoguht OU sled the entire time and even though he said UGA finished second I don’t really believe that’s what it actually is. Kids say thag all the time UGA Bama finished runner ups to make their recruitment look better . This will be a glorious melt if he flips back!

I imagine at some point a recruit is going to say "Nope. That school sucks. I would never, ever, ever go there. F%^k those guys."

and

"All the coaches are as$holes."

But they never do. They are always kind for whatever reason outside of a few like Harold Perkins who acted like an an immature clown for most of his recruitment.

Of course you don’t believe UGA finished 2nd.
Of course you believe only OU is still recruiting him

In the 90's, Justin Smith was a sought after recruit. He was from Jeff. City and wanted to go to Mizzou. Told the Oklahoma staff to stop calling him, and even said something public that was more strongly worded than you would expect.
Knew where he wanted to play and had confidence in himself that he didn't need to keep all options open.

Missouri fans are getting so nervous the newspapers had to put out an article about why does Williams keep wearing OU gear to all his games two weeks in a row …..

The 1st game he wore them was in a scrimmage game in Tulsa, before he committed to Mizzou.

Of course Mizzou fans are nervous and why wouldn’t they be. His coach and some of his teammates have been pushing him to OU for over 2 years, but he still chose Mizzou.

My guess is that his agent is putting on the pressure to get his NIL deals signed.

Gerald McCoy is the one that has been flaming the fires.
quote:

On Saturday, former Oklahoma All-American defensive lineman Gerald McCoy only added to the fire by tweeting a photo of Nwaneri wearing Oklahoma gloves with, “Hey Missouri Tigers, don’t think it’s over wit the kid either……….. We’re just getting started. Stay tuned………….”

Nwaneri response
quote:

“They’re still recruiting me and I’m going to let the season play out, but I’m committed to Mizzou… Just having fun with it,” Nwaneri told SoonerScoop’s George Stoia after.

quote:

Despite Nwaneri’s pledge to the Tigers, that won’t stop Oklahoma’s pursuit of him. And the Sooners will certainly try to get him on campus for at least one unofficial visit this fall. Following the game where he was spotted in Oklahoma gear though, he remained steadfast in his feelings about Missouri.
