The only reason they made the list is because they were bowl banned, so they scheduled a 13th game in Hawaii at the end of the year. 4-9 record to end the season. Those 4 wins were later vacated.

First season under Shula.
Turns out then-DC Joe Kines could not, in fact, stop that little inside trap.

little trivia factoid that has always stuck with me randomly: the 37 points we put up in athens against bama that year is the most points they've ever allowed in a half in their history.

Weren’t y’all a top 5 team in 2005?

Geez.
Did not know that, but two weeks earlier that same team had dropped one to Northern Illinois, so this wouldn't surprise me.

They were 4 points to Umass away from having "never" removed in 2017

At some point.
Started 9–0, but dropped two of the next three and finished 10–2.
BTW, you may recall the first loss of that season was a huge matchup against LSU, which JaMarcus Russell won in OT.
Followed that up by going 6–6 in 2006 and Shula got fired, which of course led to Saban.

LSU still part of the Big 6 even by this metric!

Feels like longer than 10 years ago given what Stoops has done in the grand scheme of Kentucky Football history.
fricking Joker and his shitty MAC recruiting.

With how dark Mizzou football was in the pivotal 80s to early 2000’s I’m surprised that 89 was the last time.
