Someone in another thread mentioned Jordan-Hare Stadium was built in 1939.

If you were in charge of building a new stadium to replace J-H, where would you have it built?

Not knocking you , but I don’t think JH will ever be taken down. It will be renovated and reinforced. Why would you change the location anyway?

Moving it a little further out could make it still within walking distance from center of campus but improve game day traffic flow.

Also, as mentioned in another thread, there are things about the current stadium that can’t be fixed for various reasons, at least not without spending so much money that we might as well just build a new (and better) stadium. (See the "What changes or improvements would you like to see at JHS?“ thread. Some guy from New York chimes in on page 2 and really runs with it on page 3.)

Will it actually happen? Doubtful. And frankly, as Cohen alluded to recently, big money donors are going to have to choose between facility upgrades and NIL. I’d rather have that money going into NIL.

In the other thread, I suggested the other side of new frat row. Just the other side of the tennis courts might work, too.

What a great idea! Lets waste all those millions we have been spending and just tear it all down and start from scratch! Perfect!

Pulling a Texas A&M and just bulldozing and rebuilding in the same spot would be the move, but I can’t see Auburn doing that.

We don't have the money that Texas A&M has...

A new stadium with Bidonomics and all the new ridiculous regulations is probably over a billion now. I'm not even talking Jerryworld kind of stadium either.

We would be much better off rebuilding roads going in and around campus to regulate flow, and to dump 100 million into Jordan Hare than to start over ground up.

Haha. I love it. Next best thing to suggesting a small change in the uniform.

The problem with rebuilding at the same spot would be you still couldn’t lower the field without rerouting the underground creek, and I think lowering the field would be one of the primary goals of rebuilding.

You’re right about money being better spent, though. NIL > facilities.

I assume it was all heresy, but back when I was at school in the early 90s it was always said that there was a creek running Jordan-Hare which prevented the end zones from being added on to.

I’m sorry but game day traffic isn’t that bad. Especially when you consider it occurs 7 or 8 out of 52 Saturdays per year.

Expanding infrastructure further or spending $500M+ on a new stadium are both ideas that I’d hope AU never considers in my lifetime.

I don't think so either. This is purely hypothetical.

Dude, chill. I'm not advocating it be done. Just a conversation starter. I know social media is toxic and people who use it tend to be argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.

New York,

It seems like a huge misappropriation of funds to build a new stadium just to fix a decades long issue that the few at field level are experiencing.

I’m not rich and won’t be sitting down there anyway..but still…

You’re right and I certainly don’t expect it to happen. Like Trojan said, it’s just a conversation.
