Serious question. In your wildest imagination did you forsee that explosion by the Gators yesterday?

Ack dominated his one start in Omaha and was on 4 days rest.

Herring was only on 3. If the game was in question in, say, the 5th, Herring probably comes in.

Once it was 8-3 LSU was playing for today.

So we should probably expect Herring to start today and for Skenes to come in if this situation develops?

I think Skenes starts with Hurd/Herring out of the pen. Cooper if he is recovered from his stomach bug.

Skenes will likely start.

Other arms LSU could potentially use are:

Herring
Hurd
Cooper
Coleman
Guidry

No because UF had been winning due to late game heroics so i wasn’t expecting 24 runs

But late Saturday and before the game yesterday- most LSU posters were saying that UF was going to win game 2 due to LSU having to settle on using the lower tier portion of the bullpen

It seems like the LSU coach made a calculated guess and got it wrong -

This is what I think as well. Hopefully Cooper has some left in the tank after getting sick

Disagree.

Again, Herring is a true freshman and was coming off 3 days rest after pitching the most pitches he's thrown in his career. He was only going to be good for an inning, maybe 2 tops.

Also, Florida didn't beat Ackenhausen yesterday. He gave up 3 earned runs in 2.1, and it really should've only been 2.

Now, we have every good bullpen arm available today. It was the right call.

Ack had one more day rest than Herring.

Picture it like this:
Friday-Skenes
Saturday-Ack
Sunday-Herring

Herring will probably pitch today but I'd be shocked if he starts. If Skenes doesn't start, Thatcher Hurd will

Technically Florida did. He was credited with the loss.

No, I think he was using what he had to work with and hoping for the best and hoping Ackenhausen had another career performance like he did in his last start. There's not really anything he could or should have done differently in who he started and/or who came in first from the bullpen. And once Florida had a 5 run lead after 5 innings, he decided to conserve arms for a game 3. If he had used Herring or Hurd yesterday, we'd be throwing those bottom of the bullpen arms in a winner take all game.

UF didn’t beat him? But he has the L?

Also…the shortstop error came AFTER it was 3-3

If we have to resort to Coleman or Guidry we're screwed.

Ack had 3 ER against him, it was effectively 3-3 without the error which gave up 4 unearned runs (3 to Ack 1 to Guidry).

W/L for pitchers in baseball dont really make much sense and it's useless to really mention

A pitcher can technically go a CG no hitter/no walks/no HBP and take an L technically if an unearned run comes across through errors. It's a useless stat that shows nothing

The shortstop Ark and the pitcher that followed with his brilliant play.

Lots of reasons, one being that Ack did well in his start in the elimination game Tuesday vs Tennessee and another being that Herring hasn't started a game all year and a third being that he had a day less rest than Ack.

I would be shocked if Herring starts, he's a true freshman reliever who doesn't have a ton of experience.

huuuu? you had it right. LSU pitched back-end starters and BP and we got blistered. Nothing abt that calculated guess has proved to be wrong yet. May end up that way later tonight, but a bad guess would've been to throw the best you got.. lose that game and then have nothing to throw today.
