Death, taxes and pundits picking Mississippi State to finish last in the West even though they have only finished last in the west one time since 2010, and that was 2020 which as we all know does not count.

How many times do they have to be wrong on this same prediction every year before it stops.

You've had some pretty good coaches and talent since then and you're in a bit of a rough spot right now with Coach Leach's passing and Arnett trying to change the offense.

I mean this is our most talented roster since 2018, and the roster is very experienced.

The personal also is fine, the offense will still pass more than it runs, and we never got full personal for the air raid anyway so it is not a huge swap back. Plus it is easier to go from pass to run than the other way around. The OC fits his system to the personal and he has proven that at multiple stops now.

I don't understand why people have this idea we are moving from the air raid to the wishbone.

Regardless, the defense alone will keep us out of the bottom of the west this year.

We go through this every offseason and every year, and with the exception of the covid year, they have been wrong about this for over a decade now.

Certainly some truth there and I am glad prognosticators are sleeping on State. Very understandable given what happened in December.

A couple of positives though.
There is some continuity with Arnett being at State four years now. There is talent on the roster. Plus they are not radically changing the offense this season. It appears that some of the aspects of the AR will be be prevalent but the overall offense will be more diversified. So that should help there.

We will see what happens.
