Is that better or worse than not winning your division with the top 2 picks in the MLB draft?

We'll have to ponder that thought on the way to Omaha.

Good hire. His brother Ricky got into some legal trouble but was a flamethrower on the mound.

Heard he was bringing Jake Taylor with him as well...

Rob is a great young man as well as a good coach. Alabama is blessed to have him.

Conference championships don’t matter to LSU fans unless Bama gets in the playoffs without winning one.

It's being reported he is keeping pitching coach Jason Jackson on the staff as well.

Good hire. Though I have to admit I was pulling for Jason. Kinda feel bad for him (jmho).

It had been worse than meh until Vaughn came there as an assistant in 2013. Prior to that, they hadn't made the postseason since 1971. Did good work at Kansas St during his brief stint there too. He played for or coached for almost all of their postseason appearances in school history.

I'm not entirely sure he wants to be a head coach right now. I know he said he wanted this job when pushed about it before the Regionals, but everything he's said before that and then immediately accepting the assistant job (when his head coach stock was probably as high as it'll be for a while) makes me think he's content (at least for now) in being an assistant.

Bama will not be good for a long time after that embarrassing situation. Bad time to be a Bama fan. Seems even the football program is declining. Good run though.

Bama was good literally 24 hours following that embarrassing situation.

I dunno, this flat bill look might erase all the "good coach with good credentials" stuff.

You realize Alabama went from getting swept by LSU and finding themselves at 9-12 in the SEC to becoming a top 16 national seed after all that happened, right? They actually have a lot of great young players on that roster. Them finishing strong and making a good hire should give them confidence they won't have a bunch of issues with the portal.

I don't know about young, they were a veteran team this season. SOG would have a better idea, but I would think Alabama loses 7 of its top 8 hitters.

Little disappointed that nobody pointed out that he's perfect for Alabama since he also gave up 20+ runs to Wake Forest in Winston-Salem during the 2023 postseason.
