With the right coach, they can be top 5 nationally annually. They need to hire someone that is Kirbyesque. This job should pique the interest of all the best coaches in the country.

Circa 1990. I think that might have been the SEC's first CWS championship though if you don't count Missouri's in the 1950's.

I agree in that Georgia high school ball and the culture there loves baseball.

Can’t compete in terms of facilities and support with the top teams. Same for basketball.

From 2000-2008 Georgia made regular visits to the CWS, playing in the final in 2008. So, yeah, Georgia can and has been competitive nationally. I'm not saying it will happen again,but it certainly could.

You must be out of the loop. Cobb county is the nucleus of youth baseball in America. More recruits come from the area than anywhere in the country. Like 100 to 1 versus the state of Arkansas. Travel literally started there, so yeah, we can and we will.
