Poor guy just can't get it done against Arkansas. We tend to have that affect on highly touted ace pitchers. Mize and Singer were the same way.

Actually hit pretty hard with several line drives hit right at defensive players. Only 3 K and very few swing and misses.

I didn’t think he was bad. I mean he only had given up one hit until the last inning he pitched where he had a walk and maybe two singles. What did he give up? 2 runs and 3 hits in 4.1 innings? That’s pretty good for only having one pitch working. I’m not blaming the umps for him. I didn’t like what happened with the catcher interference because the batter wasn’t all the way in the box

Skenes is the best pitcher in the country. He did seem a little off. But he was still painting the corners at 99. Arkansas also contributed to that, they had a good approach at the plate. And they were the recipient of a fluky play. It was the right call, but it was a fluke. Also, Arkansas is very good.
