I don't think anyone can argue with number 1. At least, not logically.

Rose bowl? Setting maybe, not game atmosphere.

Michigan at 4? It’s just a big stadium full of wine and cheese fans.

Note Dame is fun, but not loud. It shouldn't be on the list. Too many other venues that have great atmospheres and are loud

Death Valley was pretty quiet when VOLS came down to visit last season
(I know it was a noon game, I was there, relax)

Personally I would rather see Alabama play 10 years in a row in Baton Rouge than I had to play 1 year in Auburn.

I attended the Auburn-LSU game in Baton Rouge in 1997, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009. I attended the 2012 game when #3 South Carolina came to Baton Rouge.
I attended the 2021 Auburn at Penn State “White Out” game.
Both atmospheres are amazing but neither surpass a big game in Jordan-Hare stadium…. And AU’s record at home against Top 5 and Top 10 teams over the the past 40 years backs that up.

Unpopular opinion: Michie Stadium deserves to be on here, obviously above the Rose Bowl which is only an atmosphere for games not involving UCLA.

I’ve experienced 6 of these 10. Here are my honest thoughts:
LSU- I’ve been to 7 games here, 6 were Top 25 matchups. It’s a great scene. Easily a Top 5 atmosphere. LSU fans inflate its reputation however… it doesn’t stand alone at the top.
Penn St- attended the White Out game 2 years ago. Blew me away. Certainly the best atmosphere I’ve been to outside the SEC. On par with a big game at a top tier SEC school
Tennessee- attended AU games here in 1999, 2004, and 2009. Attended Bama-UT in 1994 and a random WKU game in 2013. Two of these were “big games” most notably the ‘04 Auburn game. Gameday was there etc. Tennessee is loud but it’s nothing special. It’s either 4th or 5th in the SEC.
Notre Dame- I went to the 2009 USC game. Top 25 matchup. Close game. It was completely overrated. Noise level was basically like Ole Miss. Not at all impressed.
Clemson- went to the 2011 AU game. Big game but it was a noon kickoff…. Probably not fair to compare since it wasn’t at night, but I’d give it a 7/10. Nothing memorable.
Rose Bowl- went to the 2009 National Title Rose Bowl when Bama played Texas. Absolutely gorgeous setting. But the stadium is a dump and its “atmosphere” has more to do with the San Gabriel mountains than the venue itself.
Best atmospheres in the SEC: Auburn, LSU, Florida (gap)… then Tennessee, South Carolina (gap)… then Bama and Georgia. Than everyone else.
Never been to Texas A&M however. And needs to be noted South Carolina ranks where it does due to its impressive noise level. Stadium is a dump though.

So lemme get this straight...Jordan Hare Stadium is at LEAST a 7 point swing for Auburn and were not in the top 10 for best atmospheres? List is dog shite.

And all but three schools have had pro sports in their states since the 1870's. 0 excuse for Mizzou to be what they are.
