Well, Mizzou ain't ranked last. We're a hair above Vandy (the bottom dweller) in their eyes...but they note it's a good chance that Vandy upsets Mizzou.

Mizzou upsets UGA but falls to UT in the SEC East. This actually a good team this year. Book it.

The easiest, and laziest thing in sports journalism is predicting Mizzou football to finish at, or near, the bottom of the SEC. SEC media days will be no different this summer, and once again Mizzou will finish somewhere in the middle of the pack.

Mizzou media predictions have been vandy last, mizzou 13 almost every year for the last 7 years.
Whatever, don't even care anymore. Until we actually have an 8 win season, this will be par for the course. Haven't done anything to deserve any additional attention.

BreakawayZou83 posted this in another thread regarding the same poll. I found it interesting and agree with him so I thought I'd share it here:

Quick rant: it feels like every offseason, every media outlet predicts Mizzou to finish between 12th and last in the conference. But in 10 SEC seasons, Mizzou has only finished 12th or lower twice (2015 and 2016). We've won our division as often as we've finished last.

2020 - 3rd in the East
2021 - tied for 4th in the East
2022 - next to last in the East
It's just based on the trend plus the fifth hardest schedule in the nation.

If we get late or unexpected help up front, we are.

I see your 30 and raise you 30 more.
At least.
At least.

I’m with Surgicalvenom…I’m bullish on the Tigers this year. I’m feeling 8-4 regular season and hopefully we break that bowl losing streak.

Who will be the starting quarterback?

I am making multiple investments this year in the O/U line of Mizzou football wins.
The line is currently set at O6.5. I really don't see how they do not get to 7 wins.
I think they'll finish around 8 wins this season.

6 wins should be considered a good season for Eli.

The offense could be a lot better with changes we have made and growth of young players. Unless Cook is QB1
We have 2 high 4* QB’s and a 4* true freshman. Garcia started 8 games at Miami last year, so hopefully that will leave Cook as the 3rd string QB. I think Cook might be the last Odom offensive recruit left.
WR’s
2 5* and 4 4* (Ja'Marion Wayne?) coming back or from the portal. I am impressed with Mekhi Miller he can play both on the outside and in the slot. If he didn’t have to sit out a year because of Kansas transfer policy he would probably be a 4*. He will be playing at 6’1” 195 lb’s or 200 Ib’s.
RB’s
All coming back and hopefully Jones will be the featured back
OL
Brandon Jones is a good OL coach. He will be working with the OL for 5 months before the season starts. Bringing Cam’Ron Johnson with him helps. He doesn’t have to do much to improve a line that gave up 26 sacks.
