Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray thinks the Tennessee Volunteers have America’s most talented quarterback for the 2023 college football season.
That would be Joe Milton, who is set to be the starter in Knoxville after the departure of Hendon Hooker to the NFL.

“He is the most gifted QB in America, he is,” Murray said of Milton. “He has the best arm. He is extremely athletic. The dude can dunk a basketball like it’s nothing … He’s a great athlete, and he’s a gigantic human being and can throw the ball 80-plus yards.”
According to FanDuel, Milton’s odds are listed at +2,500 to win the 2023 Heisman Trophy.
Georgia will have the chance to face the 6'-5" 242-lb. redshirt senior when it visits Knoxville in November, in what may be a game that determines the outcome of the SEC East.

means nothing if you can't complete passes.

true, but completing passes has nothing to do wiht the question posted in OP either.
"most talented" or "most athletic" or "most gifted" or whatever are all baswed on measurables and physical prowess and have nothing to do with actually completing passes and throwing touchdowns.

65% completion percentage isn’t too shabby
He also threw for nearly 1k yards with 10 TDs and 0 INTs. Had a 204 QB rating
Seems like he’s completing passes pretty well

Exactly what I was thinking. I don’t blame everyone looking for the next Lamar or Hurts. You have to have that freakish athlete nowadays to even have a chance. But, not enough emphasis has been put on finding the intangibles those guys have too.

Milton’s game is nothing like those guys. He is closer to Jamarcus Russell in terms of physical ability and style.
Plus he put up great numbers in the time he got. No reason not to hype him up at this point.

He was bad at Michigan, and he is bad at Tenn

His biggest problem is that when he does this his receivers are usually standing 10 yards away from him.
That said, he looked good against Clemson. It will be interesting to see if it carries over to the season this year.

Most athletic QB is one of the more overrated qualities looked for in a college quarterback. Cam Newton and Vince Young are pretty much the only 2 “most athletic QBs” to hold up a championship at the end of the year in the last 3 decades.
We had the “most athletic QB” last season. It ended going 6-6. Give me a leader and an accurate game manager over someone who can throw the ball 80 yards on the run but can’t read a cover 2 zone to save his life.

He completed 65% of his passes in limited duty. 10-0 TD to Int rate isn’t too shabby either. And he rushed for 4.3 a carry. Granted it’s a very small sample size but it would discredit the “he can’t complete a pass” thing.

How that dimwit got all the UV’s for saying Milton can’t complete a pass tells me people on here don’t know anything and are beta’s

Murray is probably correct. Milton is going to be hard to handle for a lot of teams.

didnt tennessee bring him in one time specifically to throw a hail mary and dude ended up putting it like 30 rows deep into the stands behind the endzone? lmao

Aaron Murray was an extremely overrated QB. Played his worst when it mattered most.

And what does Aaron Murray know about good QB play?

I don't think a redshirt SR is the most talented gb in America when he is just now getting his chance to be the starter. Cream always rises to the top, but it don't take this damn long.
