She mentioned the players who fell short. Meaning she was pondering how in the world did this team “win the damn thing”.

Openly admitted this was a surprise

Was really saying after losing to Tennessee in the tournament she wasn’t expecting to win it all

It was South Carolina’s year

WAS

It’s now LSU’s b/c a 6-loss Iowa somehow knocked off USCe.

The better team won the championship game but the best team was home.

LSU got lucky

Better to be lucky than the best?

S Carolina seems relatively pleased Iowa got smoked after being prematurely crowned.

They don’t give out trophies for who’s the “best”, just the team that wins it all. Does SC get a “best” trophy?

In the NCAA tournament set up- there are many times the best team is at home….. on any given day Top 20 teams can beat one another….

I don’t mean any of it as a knock on LSU.

Listening to her and seeing how emotional she got, it really seems to me that she’s as surprised as anyone LSU won it all.

If LSU wasn’t supposed to win, who was? South Carolina, of course.

Her mentioning the ones who didn’t get the chance to win a championship in my mind was saying “why are these girls so lucky but the others weren’t?!? “

I’m not trolling but mulkey had to be happy to not play usc again. I figured usc would cake walk through to another natty. That’s the breaks in tournament play.

But lsu won it fair and square.

I appreciate the sentiment. honestly.

in 2017 we won, we were better than State...but the best team in Uconn got sent home in the semis. History repeats itself in the same way.

LSU played a complete ball game and rattled Clark. Mulkey had a good gameplan. Reese and Carter played phenomenal. After we beat LSU by 24 I didnt think there was any way they would make a final 4, let alone a title. The SEC tournament confirmed my beliefs. I was wrong. Solid run for LSU

To be fair LSU lost in the final 4 when they were the most talented team before. So it happens

I was very happy to see some calls get called that we felt should have been called the other night. Namely the push offs. We felt because we were bigger, the refs swallowed their whistles on contact down low, while calling things on us because their players got checked in the paint. So yes the outcome makes me very happy.

it didnt particularly make me happy to see 3 or 4 threads on staley after the win, when it was unrelated. Interestingly enough all of us SC fans are backing Reese, because she is right about a narrative regarding her

Kim mulkey, one of the greatest coaches ever, plus LSU recruiting, it was only a matter of time before LSU was winning something

USC had something stolen because they are a truly GREAT team . We’ve all been there.Except Aggie. And Mizzou. It sucks.
