1. Landry is going to protect his state institutions especially if there's economic repercussions. LSU getting expelled from the SEC would hurt the state.

2. LSU Football is on another level of "sacred" in this state compared to most state's football programs. He is also up for re-election in 2027. This is a no brainer to score some political points.

3. It seems like Landry has taken on "projects" for each of his state institutions. In Lafayette, he is really pushing hard for a relationship between UL(L) and SpaceX since it'll be the closest 4 year school to the launch site plus the area will be directly affected by SpaceX's arrival. At LSU, he got his new President and is now going all in on athletics to try to use it as a catalyst to upgrade the rest of the school. In North Louisiana, he is pushing the relationship of ULM/La Tech and META.

The whole thing is a mess. Between the local judges, the SEC, the NCAA, etc., there's like 20 jurisdictions telling us 20 different things. :lol:

What they should do after this ruling is just set the rules starting next year, enforce them, and stick with them. But that's too rational, so there will be something else that will go to court by next year.

Maurice is one of the fastest growing towns in that area for people looking to stay in the vicinity of Lafayette and avoid the traffic. I think it's going to grow even more now especially since that 167 stretch to Abbeville has a lot of potential to build industrial businesses like they did in Broussard along Highway 90.

Any area south of the Acadiana Mall is now in play to see some real growth.

Because in the ~160 years that LSU has existed, it's never happened. I honestly don't know what to expect from this new chancellor. He just got hired. He may be a bust for all we know.

I pay full attention to this stuff which is why I'm having this conversation. LSU has always had the perception that they put athletics ahead of academics. This isn't some unknown concept.

WW sees what's happening in college sports.

Within the next ten years, expect the SEC and Big Ten to either combine or form a strong conference alliance that will leave out a good number of P4 schools from the Big 12 and ACC. NC State does not have the backing to be included in that number. Add in the fact that LSU has gone all in on athletics with the recent moves the athletic department has made.

We live in a different world than we were in just two years ago when it comes to college athletics.

With the world of college athletics today, what constitutes cheating?

Coming from the opposing end of this, I've never had any crazy interactions with Tiger fans when they've played the Cajuns. If anything, I've gotten "Tiger Bait"ed once or twice all in fun.

I will say, though, I've been to a few games between the Cajuns and Tigers at Alex Box and have learned that the further I sit from home plate, the more banter occurs. I've sat in the grandstand behind home plate and can say that those LSU fans are one of the most knowledgeable groups of baseball fans I've ever interacted with. I've also sat in the outfield where all I heard was constant yelling from some Bubba sitting behind us and looked like he just came in from his two week offshore shift.

This is sad. We are in a 6 page thread about the Cajuns baseball team being ranked higher than LSU in the month of March.

When some of you question why there's Cajun fans that don't like LSU, look no further than this ridiculous thread. :lol:

Two days later....a few hours before the first pitch of your next game.....

Still talking about a midweek game against the Cajuns. :lol:
