Then why are you asking the question?

Landry has cleaned up the academic side while also cleaning up the mess on the athletic side.

Because in the ~160 years that LSU has existed, it's never happened. I honestly don't know what to expect from this new chancellor. He just got hired. He may be a bust for all we know.

I think you have 4 major sports coaches that recognize the value in discipline, process based results, and hard work. I think that will translate into the academic side as well.

If they're smart, they will. Going to the holistic admissions approach was one of the goofiest moves I have seen LSU pull. Good for them for going back to the original admissions criteria.

Do y’all not pay attention?

I’m not joking when I say Landry is killing it for LSU

I pay full attention to this stuff which is why I'm having this conversation. LSU has always had the perception that they put athletics ahead of academics. This isn't some unknown concept.

Most people know that success in athletics is a perfect marketing tool for universities. The big question is if LSU will make a push for it.

Saban was very vocal for academic prestige to increase at Alabama to the point where the enrollment almost doubled especially with a lot of foreign students I don't know what the model is at LSU, but it can be done if they do it right.
WW sees what's happening in college sports.

Within the next ten years, expect the SEC and Big Ten to either combine or form a strong conference alliance that will leave out a good number of P4 schools from the Big 12 and ACC. NC State does not have the backing to be included in that number. Add in the fact that LSU has gone all in on athletics with the recent moves the athletic department has made.

We live in a different world than we were in just two years ago when it comes to college athletics.

Here's the harsh reality: people don't care.

Everybody sees the struggles the state has. There's only two parishes in the state that have growth (Lafayette and St. Tammany), and there's a reason for that. But LSU sports is a massive priority in the state. I know it's not the best thing to say for me on this board, but the PR of putting it ahead of those issues is an issue of itself, but that's what's important to people in the state.

With the world of college athletics today, what constitutes cheating?

Sooooo I guess he is not a Ragin' Cajun plant after all as a lot of people on here claimed.

Can’t tell you how many “stories” I’ve heard over the years from opposing fan bases about LSU fans.

Everything from children and old women cussing them out to people throwing glass bottles at them.

Do yall believe this stuff? Honestly I don’t. Sure I think our fans can get rowdy and hostile but only if provoked. If you come in talking smack looking for trouble, it will find you.

I think people completely make up stuff and exaggerate their so called stories.

Coming from the opposing end of this, I've never had any crazy interactions with Tiger fans when they've played the Cajuns. If anything, I've gotten "Tiger Bait"ed once or twice all in fun.

I will say, though, I've been to a few games between the Cajuns and Tigers at Alex Box and have learned that the further I sit from home plate, the more banter occurs. I've sat in the grandstand behind home plate and can say that those LSU fans are one of the most knowledgeable groups of baseball fans I've ever interacted with. I've also sat in the outfield where all I heard was constant yelling from some Bubba sitting behind us and looked like he just came in from his two week offshore shift.

We know. We know.

“Worst team in the state. You will die before you ever see ULL win a national championship.”

Blah. Blah. Blah. I’ve seen your stuff on Twitter/X. You’re a broken record.

This is sad. We are in a 6 page thread about the Cajuns baseball team being ranked higher than LSU in the month of March.

When some of you question why there's Cajun fans that don't like LSU, look no further than this ridiculous thread.

So what?
Two days later....a few hours before the first pitch of your next game.....

Still talking about a midweek game against the Cajuns.

We have been to a regional in the last 3 out of 4 years.

The vast majority of the melts weren't the actual LSU baseball fanbase. It was a bunch of rantards who seldom follow baseball and don't understand how things actually work in the sport.

There was a multi-page thread on the Acadian Flag on our uniforms. There was an unwarranted thread about "What has USL accomplished." Someone even started a thread calling out Nick Domingue. As much as people here claim that we celebrate, it's countered with hilarious melts from some of the Tiger faithful in here.

I'll give some perspective from a Cajuns fan POV. LSU is the defending NC. You are #2 in the country. It was LSU's first visit to The Tigue since 2021 (limited capacity due to COVID rules) but the first chance to use all seating since 2018. And the Cajuns are off to a hot start as well. Of course there's going to excitement. Plus, this will help our RPI when LSU gets it together and starts winning in the SEC. Our win at Alex Box in 2023 was the boost we needed to be one of the last teams selected to make the regional that year. Even the ESPN page, which rarely posts anything college baseball related during the regular season, posted about the game.

So with all that said, if anyone expected us to sit on our hands after winning this game, you're either in denial or delusional.

Man, they have been erect ever since that game! Meanwhile, most of us didn't even lose sleep over that loss and moved on. Bless their little boudin hearts.

If you read some of the threads on here yesterday, this is just false.

This is sad.

We beat the defending national champion in our stadium in front of a packed house with a young team. Just like you love to "hand us that extra L" when you beat us, we can celebrate beating you. The sun came up today. You'll be alright.

We have our own identity hence the Acadian flag.

I can understand being upset over losing a game but when the strawman argument becomes the Acadian flag patch on our uniforms, you might want to take some time to self reflect. :rotflmao:
I'm hearing that the game may be pushed back a little bit, but the bus is on the way.
