I mean just looking at the video you can tell that the new sod hasn’t yet set.
Umps called meeting and both coaches agreed to call it due to safety concerns. Nobody on either team wants to lose a player for the season in a midweek game.

You can play 4 innings but not 5, for an actual “complete” game?

Gotta side with them on this one. That field was atrocious.

Well ain’t that convenient. Just a half inning before it was considered a completed game.

Experienced coaches know not to take the lead on Ole Miss until the 5th inning and then to get that inning over with as soon as possible.

Is that biloxi?
No Trustmark Park in Pearl - AA Braves park. They need to consider moving it to Biloxi though. A lot of people would be all for it

i mean, yeah. biloxi on the beach with the casinos or jackson. seems like a no brainer

We play in biloxi once a year. I’ve always thought it could be a good place for a little round robin tournament

I agree. Would love the big 3 Mississippi schools to have a weekend with maybe Tulane or ULL, FSU or Miami, and TCU, Baylor, or Texas Tech. Would’ve said Texas but they’ll be in the SEC by the time something like that would happen

I'll be more than happy if this leads to us never playing in fricking Pearl again.
A MS Gulf Coast Classic sounds fun.

The last 3 games Ole Miss has refused to finish, they had been losing in all 3 of them to mid major teams. Them Mississippi schools are starting to become the laughing stock of the SEC.

Tennessee fans are still the laughing stock.. pumping that chest for no reason. MS schools have a national championship in the past 2 years.. Tennessee baseball has one amazing year and think they are world beaters. That amazing team didn’t do jack in postseason just like Arkansas’ 21 season…

The audacity of tenner fans really is impressive

I'm glad to know Rebel fans wouldn't mind driving to Biloxi. USM would much rather play in Biloxi (or in H'burg, obviously) than Trustmark Park anyway. I don't think USM, OM, or MSU should ever go back to Pearl.

USM had our baseball conference championship games in Biloxi several years in a row. Our fans love going there. I'm hoping the Sun Belt conference will get this lined up for us again.

I live about 10 minutes from MGM and would do anything for Ole Miss to play there.
Anyways, this game should not have been played. Trustmark should've postponed it. They set the sod last week and it rained a ton the week leading up to the game. No chance this was going to be a safe playing field.
