Smart has hired former Clemson offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter and former Texas A&M offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey, Georgia confirmed late Monday afternoon. Their exact titles were not yet known. DawgsHQ was the first to report the additions to the Georgia staff.

Georgia had openings to fill when Buster Faulkner was hired as Georgia Tech offensive coordinator after serving for three seasons as offensive quality control analyst and Mike Bobo was promoted from offensive analyst to offensive coordinator to replace Todd Monken.

Interesting hires. Is there any particular reason for these hires?

The quote answers your question. Faulkner was the sideline go-between for Monken and Bennet so one of them will fill that role and the other will take Bobos old position

Eta

As for the coaches specifically i can't say I know much about either but I've got no problem with former SEC and ACC offensive coordinators filling the roles of analysts on UGAs staff

I’m glad Dickey found a landing spot, but after we took Coley off your hands, and now you guys took Dickey, I found that funny/odd. We traded coordinators. You think Bobo will run a conservative offense? Dickey is a run first, run the option, bubble screen type guy imo.

Spy gate is back track for UGA! Way to go Kirby Smart. You sure earn a huge pay raise next year when your team comes out as a champion once again!

I just googled their 2024 schedule, that’s a funny coincidence they have A&M and Clemson on it. Spygate smoke grows.

I can’t believe Kirby got a pass here for “accidentally” leaving a camera behind to film Ohio State’s practice at the Peach Bowl. Didn’t Ohio State file a formal complaint? Spygate!

Kirby, Will and Mike are very close friends. Setting it up for all 3 to retire together.
I don't see Kirby coaching as long as Saban.

Nah. Bobo's 2014 offense was the most prolific in UGA history.

Is he an air raid guy? Dickey is a run heavy, use the TE type guy

Can we now agree that he’s the worst OC ever?

Not in the least.

Have you seen UGA play in the 2020s? That's precisely what Todd Monken did and Bobo will continue to do.

If Georgia Threepeats, I would say Smart should be in line for a huge raise. That is something no other coach has done since the 1930's, I think?

How can you tell? Fisher called the A&M offensive plays.

Bc that’s what he ran at Memphis and he’s been around for like 20 years coaching in Texas, or so it feels.

When you lose employees, you generally want to replace them.

If you could take former OCs from big boy football programs and stuff them in your QC/analyst room, why wouldn't you? Like honestly what possible reason would you not do that

We will run the same offense we've been running. This isn't 2006 anymore.

these hires will be helping out on a lower scale. They are not putting the game plan together or calling plays

You seem easily confused.
