Very surprising.
It seemed like Armstrong was set to assist Kevin Steele as the de facto co-defensive coordinator and to take over himself in the not too distant future.

He was the linebacker coach and got a promotion to defensive coordinator. Pretty straight forward

Next year is Sabans last so that makes sense to get out now.

He sounds like a good up and comer. Might of been the next Bama DC after Steele but he would of had some work to do to earn it.
Armstrong last served as the defensive coordinator at Southern Miss from 2021-22. In his first season, he was the youngest defensive coordinator in the country. The Golden Eagles ranked 42nd nationally in total defense (357.8 ypg), finishing 18 spots higher than the previous season. This past year, the total defense average dropped to 371.5 yards per game, but USM led the Sun Belt in sacks (44) and tackles for loss (109) and was second in interceptions (17

The main takeaway from this god awful shitty thread, is how many hours sidefag spends browsing the Bama board and taking screenshots. Then passing off a few posters as “widely” within the Alabama fan base

It is a never-ending source of amazement the amount of time LSU fans spend thinking and posting about all things Alabama.
