I honestly think this hire could end up being a one year deal with Pruitt being hired back once we learn the terms of his punishment.

I just don't see why Steele would give up a DC job with Miami to come here if he is only a 1 or 2 year placeholder. I mean, I guess he's ready to retire and only planning on coaching for a couple more years, but I would be surprised if that's the case.

Plus we don't know how heavy the NCAA will hit Pruitt. Take a look at some of the most recent show cause lengths the NCAA has handed out. Anywhere from 3 to 10 years. Tennessee had what, 18 level 1 violation allegations levied against them most of which involved Pruitt directly. It wouldn't shock me if he gets a show cause of 3 years or even more just because the NCAA can be irrational to say the least more often than not.

A dude in his mid-60s retiring in a couple of years wouldn't be all that surprising.

I do think Pruitt will get some leniency from the NCAA because he's been out of the game for more than two years now and got no buyout. Maybe time served or a one year suspension.

Because he has 9 years in Alabama’s state retirement system, and with 10 years he will be fully vested.

The state of Alabama is his home.
