I think the Rees hire is a total wait-and-see. I think I see where they are trying to go with the offense but I’m unsure the current roster is ready to do it. Gonna need big gains with interior OL strength and technique.

I’m not excited, hopefully it turns out to be a Kiffin impact hire and not another BoB. We’ll see.

Alabama already has an elite offensive system in place. Just need a great playcaller that can develop our QBs. Rees seems capable. I’m fine with it.

DC is my concern. That’s the big one.

Hard to say, but Saban has made unspectacular hires in the past that worked out (McElwain comes to mind). I think Saban wants an OC who runs the ball without having to be told.

B-

I like what he did in 2020 and 2021. His worst year was when he lost his starting QB

C'mon man.... don't you know??? bama hired the OC from ND, that CBK wanted to bring over here with him last year. At this point, it doesn't matter who or when... but for bama fans on here they view it as "LOOK COACH SO and SO TOLD LSU TO FRICK OFF!"

Posters like that cajunbama dipshit won't give you anything but a negative spin towards LSU.

I think he could do really well, but I’m not going to guarantee that. I think he will have weapons at the skill positions that are better than what he had at Notre Dame (though not as good or as proven as Alabama had prior to 2022). Personally, I sort of like having a young guy. My hope is that he will incorporate at least a little more imagination than O’Brien did.

Hopefully our offensive line gets back to where it should be this year and that helps the other things.

Not overly excited. If we can bring in Pruitt I will be a happy camper. Rees will do alright.

It’s not a huge splash hire but I am ok with that. Bama’s best years were with non-premier coordinators like McElwain, etc. Frankly I think we need a return to a team that relies on defense more than offense. Its not that I want the offense to fail, just one that complements the defense.

B:

I think he is a solid hire.

He has youth and energy. He is an upgrade for recruiting and evaluation over BoB.

Overall, a safe hire with a high ceiling given the access to better talent.

My feelings are idgaf who we got. Didn't matter to me. It's Saban that matters. In terms of the new guy himself, I do like that we are gonna be bigger/stronger guys up front and do more of a running attack bc I feel that's more reliable in close games. We may not score as many style points or flashy passes, supposedly, but I loooove a running game.

Well, he hasn't called any plays in a game yet. So. I have no thoughts on him.

New pretty much always means there some anxiety, but Bama has won with Nussmeier Loxley Mcwain etc
I liked McIlwain his balance put points on the board and rarely put the D in a back to back 3/ out scenario 27-30 pts and D gave up about half that. It was fundamental football.,. That's what I think Reese will bring

Saban has won national championships with multiple different OCs, many of whom were not big names or even had negatives attached to them. Don’t you worry. Bama will be just fine.

It's a wait and see for me. I'm much more concerned about the DC hire. Rees will have a lot of talent that he hasn't had before...it will be interesting.

The most interesting thing about him so far is that last year when Kelly was hired he told him to frick OFF!!! and this year he told Saban yes?

Why would he rather coach for Saban than under his mentor?

Why is that?
