Served at Bama as a student asst/graduate asst at Bama from 2008 to 2015. Graduated from Bama in 2011.
Was Kirby's first hire when he got the UGA job and refers to Shumann as his right hand man.
Has 6 national title rings. 4 at Bama, 2 at UGA.

Good luck. He's been with Kirby for a long time.
Not saying that he's not the top target, or even a target at all, but Schumann is a South Georgia Boy like Kirby (Valdosta) and has hitched his wagon to Kirby's, when he could have stayed with Saban.
For what it's worth, I think if/when Shumann leaves UGA, it'll be for a head coaching position.
Perhaps even Bama.

Pete Golding is reportedly on his way to be Ole Miss’ new defensive coordinator, as he’s reportedly leaving Alabama.
Now the focus turns to Alabama’s new defensive coordinator, and possible candidates.
Multiple reports have suggested that Georgia co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann could be in the mix, as Pat Smith of WJOX reported, along with Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports and The Athletic.
Feldman also mentioned former Wisconsin defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard and Jeremy Pruitt, the former Tennessee coach and Alabama DC.
“The 32-year-old Bama grad broke into coaching as a student assistant and then spent four years as a Alabama GA under Saban,” Feldman noted about Schumann.

Sources: Southern Miss defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong is expected to be added to the on-field coaching staff at Alabama. He’s a former QC at Georgia and his Southern Miss defense finished Top 5 nationally this year in both sacks and fourth-down conversion defense.
